  We are a small family of four (2.5 year old and 6 month old) looking for help around the home on beautiful Haida Gwaii. We just moved to our place in September and would love some help establishing the garden and doing some landscaping over the summer months. The island is a unique place to visit and experience, we would love to have you!

  We live on Haida Gwaii, a beautiful island archipelago. My partner owns a tourism business (which you may have the opportunity to experience). Haida Gwaii is home to the Haida people, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to build our home and family on their territory. There is lots of harvesting, hunting and fishing to experience here on Haida Gwaii in the summer months.

  We’re looking for an individual interested in spending the summer with our family helping with gardening tasks, wrangling tiny humans (2.5 years and 6 months) and general house maintenance. We recently moved to our house and are hoping to spend the spring and summer building up a garden and doing some epic landscaping. We have two tiny humans (one who is in daycare) and would expect help in the late afternoons playing with the kiddos while dinner is being prepared. Most of the day would be spent on outdoor landscaping/gardening projects and home Reno projects. Carpentry experience, gardening experience and love of kiddos are all assets to enjoy time with our family.

  We love having family meals and expect some contribution to cooking (once or twice a week, with groceries provided). You will have your own room which has its own entrance, but is shared with the rest of the house. We do have children so if you are a light sleeper, do expect to wake up around 6:30-7:00am daily (yes even on weekends!) though we don’t expect you to be awake with us. Our property is located at the top of a hill and has beautiful views of the inlet and a hot tub!

  There is plenty to see and do on Haida Gwaii. Spend some time Beach combing up at North Beach. Go kayaking in the beautiful waters. There are lots of beautiful campsites and we have a paddle board for your use. There are many small trails around town easily done in an hour or two, and several longer ones around the island. We -May- be able to offer transportation although it is best if you have your own. We can lend you a bike during your stay, there is no public transport on island.
