  It is a family run hostel situated directly opposite the beach. We offer beachfront seating and sunbeds, spacious communal areas, free private parking, as well as a restaurant serving a range of dishes from local Sri Lankan specialities to burgers and salad bowls. We have a fully stocked bar serving cocktails, juice and fresh coffee. We offer shared dorms or private rooms, both of which open out onto a shared seafront balcony. The hostel is close to several popular attractions such as Paravi Wella Beach (1.5km), Mulgirigala Rock Temple (17km) and Tangalle Lagoon (1km). We host regular events like a vegan dinner and quiz night, live music events and games nights.
  Tangalle is a peaceful stretch of coast where you can easily meet other travellers, but also have the option to spend time alone on the quiet beaches. Tangalle town centre is a 15 minute walk from the hostel and has great amenities such as a pharmacy, supermarket and bus station, so you can easily stock up on essentials and access other spots along the coast such as Mirissa and Hiriketiya Beach.

  There will be opportunity to exchange skills with the other volunteers (art, content creation, writing etc.), improve your yoga practice at nearby yoga studio Yoga Tangalle. We can offer you a 50% discount for the classes and workshops. Learn about local cuisine and learn more about the Sri Lankan lifestyle from our wonderful team. We tend to have volunteers from all over the world, so exchanging language practice or simply improving your English will always be possible.

  Ajuda

  We are looking for sociable individuals who are able to help us develop the hostels offerings and improve the guest experience. Below are some of the key things we are looking for help with:
  
  ART PROJECTS- We would like people to use their artistic talents to brighten up our blank walls by creating murals or small paintings, and also getting creative with decorations for our events. We welcome people with graphic design skills who can create logos and posters etc. too!
  
  SOCIAL MEDIA- We need help maintaining our successful social media page. This will include taking and editing photos and videos/ reels. We aim to create 2-3 posts per week as well as daily stories about our surroundings, food, events and rooms. This would also include making designs using Canva with special offers, event information, menu, etc.

  Acomodação

  The volunteer accomodation is a shared room at the back of the building away from the main area, so it is really quiet and peaceful. There will be one or two other volunteers staying in the room. The beds are comfortable and we will provide you with sheets, a mosquito net and a fan, and the bathroom is large with a hot or cold water shower. Included in the exchange is 2 meals per day, 20% off our food and drink menu and a free laundry service.

  We will provide the above in exchange for 5 hours of help per day, 5 days per week. We can provide you with tips on the local area and advice for onward travel so that you can make the most of your time here in Sri Lanka.
