  I’m looking for a reliable, practical and friendly woman with good equine experience to come and stay at my sanctuary in Ireland for approximately three months, starting in November 2026. I am looking for someone who can make the full three-month commitment.
  This is a paid assistant position involving a mixture of pony care, household help, sanctuary tasks and some computer/social media work.
  It would suit someone who enjoys animals, a peaceful environment and a varied role, and who is looking for a longer-term stay rather than a short Workaway experience.
  There are currently 9 ponies, 2 dogs and 1 sheep living here.
  
  WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES
  Pony & Sanctuary Care.
  ●Everyday pony care and feeding
  ●Checking ponies and their general wellbeing
  ●Grooming and handling
  ●Keeping pony areas clean and tidy
  ●Helping with routine jobs around the sanctuary
  ●Safely handling ponies without needing constant supervision
  Household Help
  ●Cooking simple everyday meals
  ●General housework and cleaning
  ●Keeping shared areas tidy
  
  Computers & Social Media
  I’m also developing my Horse Guided Empowerment (HGE) business, so there will be some computer-based work, such as:
  ●Helping with social media
  ●Taking photos and videos of the ponies
  ●Preparing or scheduling posts
  ●Updating my website
  ●Basic computer and administrative tasks
  ●Helping with simple marketing projects
  Confidence using computers and social media is essential.
  
  Hours
  The role will involve no more than 20 hours per week.
  The exact balance of tasks will vary from week to week depending on what needs doing.
  
  Payment, Accommodation & Board
  This is a paid assistant position, rather than an unpaid Workaway exchange.
  ●€150 per week payment
  ●Your own private accommodation
  ●Full board, including meals
  
  Private Accommodation
  You will have your own private accommodation during your stay, while also having access to the household facilities and shared areas as appropriate.
  You have the choice of living in my spare room or in my very comfortable caravan if you prefer more privacy and space
  
  Who I’m Looking For
  ●Experienced and confident with ponies
  ●Kind and respectful towards animals
  ●Reliable, trustworthy, practical, friendly and easy-going
  ●Organised and able to work independently
  ●Comfortable doing a mixture of animal, household and computer-based tasks
  ●Good physical health
  ●Genuinely interested in ponies and sanctuary life
  Please only apply if you have genuine practical equine experience and are able to commit to the full three months.
  
  A Few Things You Should Know
  I am a smoker. This is a smoking household and the position is unlikely to suit someone who is very sensitive to cigarette smoke or who strongly dislikes being around smokers.
  I cannot cater for special dietary requirements so please take this into consideration before applying.
  Whilst I am more than willing to help you improve your English you do need to be reasonably proficient so that you can understand instructions.

  This is a peaceful, animal-centred environment where the ponies are a big part of everyday life.
  Alongside helping with the sanctuary and my HGE business, you will have plenty of your own free time. If you love ponies, enjoy a quieter way of life and would like to experience living in Ireland for a few months, you may really enjoy it here.
