    Descrição

Come join our family farm and retreat project in the Miani Forest area near Hyderabad — a working farm with 15 goats, 5 buffaloes and a horse, set among trees and farmland, with our own forest area, a beautiful lake, and a river bank nearby. The real exchange here isn't just work for accommodation — it's a window into a way of life very few travelers ever see.

    About us and the project
We run a small family farm retreat that we're gradually renovating. Daily life revolves around the land and the animals: goats and buffaloes, a horse you can ride, crops, roses and trees, and ongoing renovation work on the property.

The help we need — weekends only, 4 hours a day

We only ask for help on Saturdays and Sundays, about 4 hours each day. The rest of the week is yours to explore, relax and soak up village life.

    Tasks include:

    - Feeding and caring for the goats, buffaloes and horse
    - General farm tasks and property upkeep
    - Hands-on help with renovation (painting, repairs, building)

No special skills needed — just willingness to get stuck in. Experience with animals, tools or building is a bonus.
    Special experiences

Rose harvest at dawn: if you're an early riser, join our local farm workers at 6 AM to pluck red roses in the morning light. Completely voluntary — but volunteers who've done it say it's a highlight.
The horse: you're welcome to groom and ride our horse during your stay.
Fresh goat milk chai every morning on the farm.

Where you'll stay - two options

Family home (15 minutes from the farm): a guest room with air conditioning, staying with our family. Suits couples and solo backpackers who'd like home comforts. Wifi and coffee available here.
On the farm: a small traditional Sindhi-style round hut — simple, atmospheric, and right among the animals and fields. On warm nights you're welcome to sleep out under the open sky; there's plenty of space and the stars here are something else.

You can also mix the two during your stay.

Free time and what volunteers love
With only weekend help needed, you'll have five full free days a week — swim or relax at the lake, walk the river bank and forest, ride the horse, or just slow down. Past volunteers have loved discovering the Brahui way of life: sharing meals, learning the language, meeting people from the grassroots community. When timing allows, we take volunteers on a road trip to Sehwan Sharif, home of the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine — the Sufi music and atmosphere there is unforgettable.

    Food
We cook and eat together — simple, honest local food: vegetable dishes six days a week, chicken once a week. Vegetarians will fit right in. Fresh goat milk chai on the farm every morning, and coffee at the family home.

Oportunidades de intercâmbio cultural e aprendizado

This is a chance to experience a side of Pakistan that almost no traveler sees — rural Sindh, Brahui culture, and genuine village hospitality, far from any tourist trail.
What you can learn and experience with us:

The Brahui way of life: live alongside our family and community, share meals, and learn about a culture and language spoken by few and known to even fewer outsiders. Pick up words of Brahui and Sindhi, and see how grassroots village communities live, work and celebrate.

Traditional farming, hands-on: learn how we care for goats, buffaloes and our horse, how crops and roses are grown here, and join the dawn rose harvest with local farm workers if you wish.

Sindhi food and cooking: eat home-cooked local food with us every day — and if you're interested, join in the kitchen and learn to cook Sindhi dishes yourself, with fresh goat milk chai every morning on the farm.
Sufi culture: when timing allows, we take volunteers on a road trip to Sehwan Sharif, home of the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar — experiencing the dhamaal (Sufi drumming and dance) there is something volunteers describe as unforgettable.

Nature and slow living: our forest, lake and river bank offer a rhythm of life most visitors have forgotten exists.

What we hope to learn from you: we love hearing about our volunteers' countries and cultures, practicing English together, and exchanging ideas — for our family, hosting travelers is our window to the world, just as our farm is yours into ours.

  • Ajuda

    Ajuda

We ask for help on Saturdays and Sundays only, around 4 hours per day — the rest of the week is yours.
    The help we need:

Animal care: feeding and looking after our 15 goats, 5 buffaloes and horse — fresh water, feed, and general care alongside us
Farm tasks: general upkeep of the property, watering, tending crops and trees, keeping shared spaces tidy
Renovation help: we're gradually renovating the retreat, so hands-on help with painting, small repairs and building work is very welcome

No experience necessary — we'll show you everything. If you do have skills with animals, tools, building, gardening or painting, we'd love to put them to use. We work alongside you, so it's also a chance to chat, learn some Brahui and Sindhi words, and get to know local farm life from the inside.
Optional extra (not counted as work): if you're an early riser, you're welcome to join our local farm workers for the red rose harvest at 6 AM — a beautiful way to start the day, entirely voluntary.

Yes, we welcome digital nomads! Wifi is available at our family home (15 minutes from the farm), where you can stay in the air-conditioned guest room and work comfortably — with coffee on hand. There's no wifi at the farm itself, so we suggest remote workers base themselves at the home and spend free time at the farm, the lake and the forest. With help needed only on weekends (4 hours on Saturday and Sunday), your weekdays are completely free for work — making this an easy place to combine remote work with a genuine rural Sindh experience.
