  Hi! I'm Tomás, and I'm bringing to life a regenerative ecotourism project in Melipeuco, in the Araucanía Region, at the foot of the Andes Mountains. What I love most about this place is its energy: everything here invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what's essential. The landscapes are breathtaking, with rivers, native forests, and mountains. I believe that those who come will also fall in love with the peace, the natural beauty, and the sense of purpose that permeates this corner of the world.
  
  Throughout this process, I'm joined by friends and local people who share the vision of building a simple, welcoming, and mindful space. Some people help with construction, others with food preparation, design, or logistical support. There isn't a formal team, but there is a growing network of people who contribute as they come along. I'm excited to open our doors to volunteers who feel an affinity for this way of living and creating.
  
  Hola! Soy Tomás y estoy dando vida a un proyecto de ecoturismo regenerativo en Melipeuco, Región de La Araucanía, al pie de la cordillera. Lo que más amo de este lugar es su energía: aquí todo invita a bajar el ritmo, respirar profundo y reconectar con lo esencial. Los paisajes son impresionantes, con ríos, bosques nativos y montañas. Creo que quienes vengan también se van a enamorar de la paz, la belleza natural y la sensación de propósito que se respira en este rincón del mundo.
  
  Durante este proceso me acompañan amig@s y personas de la zona que comparten la visión de construir un espacio simple, acogedor y consciente. Algunas personas colaboran en la construcción, otras en la preparación de alimentos, diseño o apoyo logístico. No hay un equipo formal, pero sí una red humana que va creciendo con quienes llegan a aportar. Me entusiasma abrir las puertas a voluntari@s que sientan afinidad con esta forma de vivir y crear.

  What motivates me most about hosting volunteers here is the opportunity to learn from each person who arrives. I'm interested in learning about different ways of life, ideas, languages, and practical and creative knowledge. Every culture has a unique way of seeing the world, and I feel that this project is also built on the experiences and contributions that other people bring with them. I'd like to learn new techniques, organizational methods, recipes, ways of working the land, or simply other ways of living.
  
  More than a fixed structure, I want the time we share here to be an experience of horizontal and human exchange. We can cook together, talk around the fire, go for walks in the forest, or simply share our daily lives in this corner of nature. I'm open to being inspired by those who come, so that this place grows not only in infrastructure but also in spirit, thanks to these connections.
  
  Lo que más me motiva de recibir voluntari@s aquí es la posibilidad de aprender de cada persona que llega. Me interesa conocer diferentes formas de vida, ideas, idiomas, saberes prácticos y creativos. Cada cultura tiene una manera única de mirar el mundo, y siento que este proyecto también se construye con las experiencias y aportes que otras personas traen consigo. Me gustaría aprender nuevas técnicas, formas de organización, recetas, formas de trabajar la tierra o simplemente otras maneras de habitar la vida.
  
  Más que una estructura fija, busco que el tiempo compartido aquí sea una experiencia de intercambio horizontal y humano. Podemos cocinar junt@s, conversar alrededor del fuego, salir a caminar por el bosque o simplemente compartir el día a día en este rincón de la naturaleza. Estoy abierto a dejarme inspirar por quienes lleguen, y a que este lugar crezca no solo en infraestructura, sino también en alma, gracias a esas conexiones.

  Ajuda

  During their stay, volunteers will primarily participate in tasks related to construction, the restoration of natural spaces, and preparing the environment to receive visitors in the summer. This includes things like working on simple wooden structures, improving paths, helping to beautify the area, creating handcrafted signage, and collaborating on the construction of the composting area and recycling point, in addition to other projects and countless other ideas we'd love to implement!
  
  Many activities are done in teams, and others individually, and I like the process to be collaborative, horizontal, and open to new ideas. Each person has something unique to contribute, and I'm very interested in us sharing knowledge, learning together, and creating a meaningful experience that goes beyond the practical work. Sometimes we cook together, play board games, spend the afternoon at the river, or simply chat around the fire. It's not about doing things for the sake of doing them, but about building with purpose, care, and awareness.
  
  Durante su estadía, l@s voluntari@s participarán principalmente en tareas relacionadas con construcción , la habilitación de espacios naturales y la preparación del entorno para recibir visitantes en verano. Esto incluye cosas como trabajar en estructuras simples con madera, mejorar caminos, ayudar a embellecer el lugar, crear señalética artesanal, y colaborar en la construcción del compostaje, punto de reciclaje, aparte de otros proyectos y miles de ideas que nos gustaría realizar!).
  
  Muchas actividades se hacen en equipo y otras de forma individual, y me gusta que el proceso sea colaborativo, horizontal y abierto a ideas. Cada persona tiene algo único que aportar, y me interesa mucho que podamos compartir conocimientos, aprender junt@s y generar una experiencia significativa más allá del trabajo práctico. A veces cocinamos en grupo, jugamos juegos de mesa, pasamos la tarde en el río o simplemente conversamos al fuego. No se trata de hacer por hacer, sino de construir desde el sentido, con cariño y conciencia.

  Acomodação

  During certain periods, volunteers will be able to change their accommodation type, staying in the main house, a cabin, or a converted shipping container, depending on where guests are staying and the various renovations/repairs being done. The idea is to also set up a campsite, which would be used during the summer, but that also needs to be prepared.
  Volunteers also need to bring sleeping bags.
  I will provide breakfasts and the ingredients for lunch and dinner. Volunteers should cook most of the time, but they are also welcome to bring their own food if they don't like what I offer, and we will occasionally have potluck meals depending on the situation. What is certain is that they will have a clean and friendly place to sleep. :)
  
  Durante períodos los voluntarios podrán ir cambiando el tipo de hospedaje quedandose en la casa principal, cabaña o contenedor habilitado, dependiendo de donde se queden los huéspedes y las distintas renovaciones/arreglos que se vayan haciendo. La idea es armar un lugar para acampar también y sería el lugar durante el verano, pero también hay que prepararlo.
  También es necesario que los voluntarios traigan saco de dormir.
  Yo proveeré los desayunos, y los ingredientes para almuerzo y cena, los voluntarios deben cocinarse la mayoría de las veces, pero tambien es necesario que los voluntarios de su comida en caso de no gustar lo que yo puedo ofrecer y de vez en cuando haremos comidas compartidas según se dé la situación.
  Lo que es seguro es que tendrán un lugar limpio y amigable dónde dormir. :)

  In their free time, volunteers can enjoy walks in the forest or swim in the river. They can explore the area or simply rest and disconnect. The Melipeuco area is ideal for nature lovers: it's close to Conguillío National Park and other incredible places. They can also connect with the community or simply read, write, or create in a quiet and restorative environment. Public transportation reaches the town of Melipeuco, and from there we coordinate transfers to the project site.
  
  I live a simple life, connected to the rhythms of nature. I highly value respect, care for the environment, autonomy, and harmonious coexistence. There are no strict rules, but there are some important guidelines: take care of common areas, avoid generating unnecessary waste, recycle and compost, use resources consciously (water, fire, food), and maintain an open and respectful attitude. This is not a place for parties or excessive consumption, but for those seeking calm, purpose, and collaboration.
  
  En su tiempo libre, l@s voluntari@s pueden disfrutar de caminatas por el bosque o bañarse en el río. Explorar la zona o simplemente descansar y desconectarse. La zona de Melipeuco es ideal para quienes aman la naturaleza: está cerca del Parque Nacional Conguillío, y de otros lugares increíbles. También pueden conectar con la comunidad o simplemente leer, escribir o crear en un entorno silencioso y regenerador. El transporte público llega hasta el pueblo de Melipeuco, y desde ahí coordinamos traslados hasta el lugar del proyecto.
  
  Llevo una vida sencilla, conectada con los ritmos de la naturaleza. Valoro mucho el respeto, el cuidado del entorno, la autonomía y la convivencia armoniosa. No hay reglas estrictas, pero sí algunas pautas importantes: cuidar los espacios comunes, no generar basura innecesaria, reciclar y compostaje, usar los recursos con conciencia (agua, fuego, comida), y mantener una actitud abierta y respetuosa. Este no es un lugar para fiestas ni consumo excesivo, sino para quienes buscan calma, propósito y colaboración.

  Yes! We actually would love to create a nice place for receiving campervans and it would be amazing if travellers who know how is to move around in a campervan can come and help create a space for them!
