  My name is Barbara and I have been a Workaway host for several years, most recently when we lived in Sri Lanka.
  Now my children have left home and I live with my dog Meilo, a loyal Labrador, on the Baltic Sea near Grömitz in a housing project on a biodynamic farm.
  I am 63 years old and currently work as a counsellor for volunteers in refugee aid.
  I have previously lived and worked in various countries (Brazil, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and most recently in Sri Lanka). I speak German, Portuguese and English.

  For me, the intercultural exchange and getting to know and be with each other is in the foreground.
  We have already had many workaways as guests and I am grateful for the help that has been given and for the interesting exchange, which was an opportunity to get to know other experiences and points of view. I am happy about every new exchange that is not only superficial

  Ajuda

  I live in a flat with garden , so there is always something to do (gardening, repairs, tidying up and cleaning...). I am happy about workawayers who see for themselves what needs to be done and pitch in.
  At the moment I mainly need good craftsmanship for converting my Ford transit into a campervan.
  My dog Meilo enjoys every walk in the forest or down to the beach and is always up for a play or a cuddle.

  Acomodação

  As a workawayer, depending on the situation, you can sleep in a small trailer, in a guest room in the main house, or in my living room. We will cook together. We eat vegetarian and try to use local or organically grown food and eat healthily. We are non-smokers.

  I live in a housing project on a farm (farm community). it's a very rural area. the Baltic Sea beach is only 2.5 kilometres away and the forest is right outside the door. You can enjoy wonderful walks and hikes here in all seasons.
  The neighbouring village of Kellenhusen has a supermarket and post office, and there is a good tourist infrastructure in the surrounding area.
  There is an organic market on the farm with a wide range of products, including baked goods from the farm's own bakery and delicious cheese from the farm dairy as well as really fresh milk. There is also a farm café with homemade cakes and pies.
  There is an hourly bus service / public transport connection about 1km away.
  I can also provide (old) bicycles, and there is a well-developed network of cycle paths
