Hi Workawayers,
We are Stephen and Eva.
We would love somebody to come and help us who has a passion for outdoor life and gardening and working outside sometimes around animals.From January to April is a busy with new life being born on the farm.
We have an old farm house,a farm and large country garden.Very quiet rural area up a long avenue with lots of trees and fields to explore.
I grow some plants for sale and also teach floral art and basic gardening.
I am working on new areas in the garden but need lots of weeding, strimming and lawn cutting leaf raking and general maintenance.
Some construction has not happened as yet because we need a workaway that’s good at building and carpentry and physical strength.
We have two Border Collie dogs and 3 farm cats and 5 colonies of Bees.
We have Cows and their baby calves will be arriving soon so it will be very busy.The Sheep will also be having their baby lambs.
The Bees are very busy so will need checking every week from April which hopefully a workaway can help me with and also extraction of honey in August..A workaway with previous knowledge would be a great help.

Workawayers will have an opportunity to come to a rural quiet farm in Co ,Kilkenny 8 km from the city of Kilkenny and 4km from local village of Freshford.
While with us we hope you can join in and partake in what is going on on a daily basis.
I teach basic Gardening and Floral Art in a Classroom here at the House and also with Adult education in the wider community.

A passion for outdoor tasks, helping to maintain a large country garden somebody able to do manual work. I need somebody who is good at carpentry and construction for a project making an enclosed fern area.There is an are which needs a full revamp also,lots of pruning etc.
I also would love to have inventive creative people who could build a Garden room from salvaged materials,hopefully in the Summer 2024 when the weather will be good.😊
We love having Workaways who like cooking and I can learn new recipes from their country.We are not Vegan or Vegetarian but that is not a problem.
Somebody with good strength and ability who is studying agriculture or horticulture would be very beneficial.
Some timber cutting and pruning trees.
Every day there are new things happening so it’s always changing.
We can work in the polythene tunnels in bad weather or jobs in the house and classroom.

We have an Old Farm House and Workawayers can have use of a double room or a room with two single beds.
Workawayers will have to use the shared family bathroom.
Workawayers will have use of family kitchen and there will always be food in the fridge and freezer.Shops are not too far away.We have a list that gets filled when food is running short.
Some days I am away teaching and meal times can vary but there will always be food.
We love trying new food.

Kilkenny City and Freshford village are in easy reach.Good Pubs for music and Restaurants,Cinema .
There is Foot Golf locally.
There is good night life venues,Galleries,Historic Buildings to visit in Kilkenny City.
Locally we have Jenkinstown wood which is nice to explore.
There is a local bus service but a little walk away but we can drive Workaways to Kilkenny for connections with trains and buses if needed.

Alice arrived to our home when Lia and Laura were with us she settled in really fast and was a pleasure to have in the house.Alice is a creative girl who had a natural aptitude for flowers and helped me with a wedding.Alice loved cooking and we got lovely pizza and I learned how to make pasta.If you have Alice as a Workaway you will be very happy.

Nathan spent a few weeks with us and also Paul.The two guys did not know each other but got on well together when here,they loved their sport and went to foot golf on Saturdays.
Nathan did lots of work in the garden and cooking.
Dill the main man the Cat liked Nathan and he spoilt Dill.
