We are situated on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula, on the West Coast, Highlands of Scotland. Our small-holding is surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest, at the base of a mountain which supplies our drinking water. There is no road access, travel to and from our home is by our private boat.
Living sustainably and in harmony with Nature is important to us. We generate our own electricity (hydro and solar), grow beautiful nourishing food, tend to the land and bring into being the collective vision we have for our lives here. Above all, we aim to live quietly and respectfully – attuning ever more to the rhythms and cycles of Nature. We are a small community (5 adults and 2 children) and enjoy living together, with a shared vision to experience stillness and contentment, whilst being practical and having a lot of fun!
We welcome guests who are hard-working and appreciate our remote/wild situation. Generally, we will only accept guests who are looking for longer placements, ideally 4 - 6 weeks (or more) to be able to learn, understand and contribute to our community life - however, exceptions are possible if there is a good fit.
Being situated in such a remote and secluded location creates an opportunity to be in Nature without so many distractions. Woven into our daily lives are spiritual practices passed onto us by indigenous elders which we will gladly share with you for a truly immersive experience into our way of life.
We look forward to hearing from you :)

We welcome you as a guest, to learn and grow during your time here. We provide the space for a transformational and immersive experience in the wilds of Scotland, along with nourishing food, resources and practices.
Daily responsibilities centre around organic and biodynamic gardening, establishing a forest garden, land management, wood gathering, general maintenance, getting involved with any building projects currently in progress, cooking, preparing food and helping take care of our chickens (layers and meat birds).
Guests have the use of our ‘Guesthouse’ which has 3 bedrooms with bunk beds, a living room area, shower, loo, and a fully kitted kitchen with a wood stove oven, gas cooker, fridge, freezer and Vitamix blender. Guests are also welcome to camp 😊
In the summer, the garden has an abundance of organic salad and seasonal produce. The guesthouse is always stocked with organic fresh fruits and vegetables, grains, pulses, seeds and superfoods. We occasionally eat meat from the land – venison and chicken. Meals are all homemade, we make our sourdough bread from home-milled flour and ferment, germinate and sprout a variety of foods for a nourishing and varied diet.
We are active, working in the land 6 days a week. We start at 8 am and work through until 4-5 pm, with a break for lunch. Evenings and Sundays are your free time to explore and have personal time to further nurture yourself. People often spend their time walking, canoeing on Loch Shiel, fishing, reading, writing, being creative, meditating and practising yoga/tai chi.
We live in a very peaceful, quiet place, enjoyed for its beauty and tranquilly. We are surrounded by mountains, forests, wildlife, lochs, rivers and vast open skies. Please understand there is NO road access here, travel to and from is by private boat. We ask guests to be mindful of the very secluded nature of our location. No shops or towns are easily accessible and getting to and from our small-holding is something we often have to plan in advance.
Our ethos is rooted in living in harmony with each other and our environment. With that in mind, guests may not smoke or bring drugs/alcohol.
Please look up Sacred Living Earth Trust for more info, and get in touch via WorkAway if you would like to spend some time with us, exploring your connection with Nature and being involved with all that we do here.
