We an excellent 4 day stay with Louise, Ian and the boys. We wish we could've stayed longer! They were very welcoming and considerate, and gave us lots of local knowledge on Gisborne.
We helped with tidying up the yard after a storm knocked some trees over, and cleaned the siding/walkways around the house. Ian and Louise were very clear with

During our free time we surfed at Makorori beach (10min drive) and played soccer with the boys in the yard. We especially enjoyed our evenings together; having dinner with everyone and relaxing for a movie afterwards. Another highlight was touring around the farm and learning about beef farming and the citrus nursery.
If you're looking for a place to stay around Gisborne I highly recommend Louise and Ian's!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I had a really good stay with this nice family. With bad timing I was unfortunately in Gisborne at the time of the Cyclone and therefore couldn't really enjoy the surroundings, but I have rarely felt so comfortable and welcome with a host.
My main job was removing old wallpaper, which was really fun most of the time. And afterwards there are

I hope I was able to help a bit and that everything will be rebuilt quickly for you! Thanks for the week...

The farm is tucked away surrounded by beautiful scenery with chickens, dogs, a cat and a pig running around. It’s a lovely environment. I had planned to stay for two weeks with Ian and Louise, but ended staying four weeks because I was having such a good time.
Work could be hard but fun, with scratches on my arms and blisters on my hand. With a good exhausting feeling at the end of a day of working. You don’t need to have experience, everything is explained on the moment. Really

When it rains they give you jobs in and around the house. I got to paint some doors and do some general cleaning.
Lovely family that makes you feel part of the family. Loud enthusiastic boys that love to include you in their games, mostly Lego. The farm is a bit out of town. But they give you plenty of possibilities to get a ride into town with them.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Brandon stayed with us for two weeks and was polite and respectful. We loved having him stay as he was very independent and willing to help out with anything we asked. Brandon's main roll was in the citrus nursery but also helped me out cooking dinner or doing my odd jobs when I caught a bug from one of our kids! Thanks for all you help Brandon.

Cannot say enough good things about this experience, and the family! I had intended to stay for a week but added another one. Louise and Ian are super easy going, fun and gregarious. The kids are charming and have lots of energy. They love their legos! The work isn't anything gruelling, and the setting is peaceful and idyllic. If you're

It was great to see our city through their eyes and we loved that they used every opportunity to explore our beautiful city.

As a group of four girls we found our stay with Ian, Louise, the boys and all the animals very comfortable and educational! They welcomed us with a feast and some Maori language.

Amy came and stayed with us for around 3 weeks in December, the kids are still asking about her and miss her more than any other Workawayer so far!

I have just spent a fun filled three weeks with Louise and Ian, Zac, Jasper and Theo - (not forgetting Puss Puss/Francis and the four chickens) at their lovely country home.
Louise and Ian are great hosts who open up their home with a warmth and inclusiveness that makes you feel comfortable within a day. The work is varied and flexible depending
… read more on your preference, the weather and skill set. The workaway room and bathroom are great and provide privacy if you want it. Louise and Ian provide all the food you need and I ate with the family whenever I was at home.
Their three boys provide total entertainment - they are full of energy, inquisitive and a joy to be around. I smiled so much during my stay watching them interact with the world around them and listening to their stories and commentary about life! It is difficult not to become attached to them quickly!
As I enjoy gardening and outdoor tasks, cooking and playing with the children this filled most of my working time; I also helped with house maintenance/decorating too when it rained. However I also spent some time learning about the citrus orchard and the farm which was a really interesting cultural exchange for me. It has given me an appreciation of the depths of rural living and the processes that go into making the food we find in the supermarket.
Due to the location of the farm if you have your own transport it would be easier to get to the beach and explore the local area. However Louise and Ian help out where they can and the pool is great place to chill out during the afternoon.
I was very sad to leave the family on Friday and will miss the daily family routines. Have a great Christmas and New Year guys I know we will be touch. :-)Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Louise, Ian, Zack, Jasper and Puss-Puss are a lovely warm, welcoming family and we had an amazing time staying with them.
