Descrição
Its the time of the year that we spend a lot of time on the newly planted trees to release and weed manage. We planted 23,000 trees last year
Besides the reforestation, we also have an existing forrest and a new area to be prepped for planting (planting will not happen until May 2026)
We have animals on the farm, like sheep, ostrich, ducks, geese
We can host ideally couples.
We have two young daughters too, 3 & 7 years of age

I spent a week at Marcel's place in February and you couldn't ask for kinder and friendlier hosts. The time there was super chill and after finishing days work there was plenty of time to relax. Every workaway is different which is what makes this volunteering really interesting. It does mean that what works for one host/workawayer won’t necessarily work for another. For us, Marcel’s farm was one that didn’t work, and we left earlier than originally intended.

This was my first stop in New Zealand, and I'm really happy for it
The work is physical, not too hard. The scenery is amazing. And I got to learn a little about reforestation, invasive species etc.

We spent 9 days with Marcel & Dave. Our time there was very good, the place is awesome and the tasks are for everyone.
They are pretty busy guys but they give to you all the necessary to enjoy the experience.
Don't miss the farmer's market on sunday & twilight on friday, anyway, Marcel will give you some good tips about things to do around.

We had a wonderful time with Marcel and his family! We learned so much from Marcel, who generously shared valuable tips and insights that were exactly what we were looking for. We had a lovely stay with Marcel and Laura. We were warmly welcomed and the working hours were pretty relaxed. On odd days we had car visits and it wasn't a problem to take time off. It’s not too far from auckland. So if you have to go into town, no problem.

Marcel, Laura and their two cute children are very lovely people who welcomed us in their warm home.
They have a beautiful big house and a cuddly cat. We were given new and different tasks around the house and farm everyday and had a lot of fun doing them.

Rosa & Johannes were amazing, they became part of our family.
They helped around the farm with all kinds of work, mostly around the vineyard, but also with maintenance on the driveway
