【Important Information】
Before applying, please read the following information carefully.
* No smokers.
* We can accommodate one person, a couple, or a family of up to three people (for example, two adults and one child).
* The bathroom and toilet are shared with our family. There are two toilets in the house.
* The guest room is a Japanese-style tatami room (washitsu). You will sleep on a traditional Japanese futon.
* The room is next to our living room and has a curtain as a divider, but there is no lock on the room door. Therefore, it is not a completely private room.
* If you would like to drink alcohol, please purchase it at your own expense.
Your Main Responsibilities
This is a work-exchange arrangement, so we ask our guest to help us with our children in exchange for accommodation.
Your main responsibilities would be:
Morning: 7:30–8:30
* Have breakfast with our 4-year-old daughter.
* Help her communicate and interact in English.
Evening: 5:00–9:00
* Spend time with our four children.(13y,11y,9y,4y)
* Play games, talk, read, or do activities together.
* Help them with their homework when necessary.
* Occasionally, you may also help us prepare dinner or cook together.
Our main goal is to give our children opportunities to communicate naturally in English. We are especially looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children.
If you have a particular skill, hobby, or area of expertise, we would also love you to share it with our children. For example, music, sports, art, cooking, languages, or anything else you enjoy.
About Our Family
We are a family of six: my husband, our four children, and me.
Both my husband and I work in the healthcare field. I worked as a nurse for more than 10 years, including experience in the operating room and maternity/newborn care. I later changed my career and now work as a professional photographer, mainly specializing in newborn photography.
We usually have dinner together as a family every evening, and we would love our guest to join us whenever possible.
Our eldest daughter hopes to attend a university overseas in the future. She has already experienced studying abroad in Australia twice on her own, and last year, our family also spent time studying in New Zealand.
She can understand most everyday English, and she and I have recently started studying for the IELTS because she will need a high level of English to keep up with university classes overseas.
Therefore, we would especially appreciate someone who can speak English naturally with her and help her become more confident communicating in English.
A Little About Us
We love travelling and experiencing different cultures.
As a family, we enjoy spending time together, eating out, visiting cafés, travelling, and discovering new places. When we have free time, we would also be happy to take our guest to a nice café or explore the local area together.
We have travelled to places including:
New York/Mongolia/Australia/New Zealand/Hawaii/Guam
We enjoy meeting people from different countries and learning about their cultures and ways of life.
About Our Area
We live in a quiet, green area of Tochigi, Japan.
Our neighbourhood is quite rural and surrounded by nature, but the area has been developing in recent years. There are also many families with children, so it is a comfortable place for families.
There are many temples, traditional buildings, and other cultural and historical sites within about an hour by car.
Costco is also only about 10 minutes away by car.
For families with elementary or junior-high-school-aged children, it may also be possible to experience a short-term stay at a local public school, depending on the school and local arrangements. This can be a great opportunity for children to experience everyday Japanese school life and culture.
We hope to welcome someone who is kind, responsible, enjoys children, and is interested in experiencing authentic Japanese family life. -

Oportunidades de intercâmbio cultural e aprendizado
We would love our Workawayer to become part of our family and experience everyday life in Japan with us.
We usually have dinner together as a family, and our Workawayer is welcome to join us. In our free time, we enjoy going to cafés, eating out, travelling, and exploring new places. We would be happy to take our Workawayer with us when possible and introduce them to our local area and Japanese culture.
We can share our knowledge of Japanese culture, food, family life, and everyday life in Japan. As I have worked as a nurse for more than 10 years and am now a photographer, I can also share my experiences in healthcare, photography, and raising children.
Our children would also love to learn from our Workawayer. If you have a special skill, hobby, or interest, such as sports, music, art, cooking, or languages, we would be happy for you to share it with them.
At the same time, we are very interested in learning about different cultures and ways of life. We would love to hear about your country, food, traditions, language, and experiences.
We hope this will be a genuine cultural exchange where both our family and our Workawayer can learn from each other, make memories together, and feel like part of the same family during their stay. -

We would love to have a language exchange with our Workawayer. Our main goal is to give our children more opportunities to communicate in English, especially our eldest daughter, who hopes to study at a university overseas in the future. In return, we would be happy to help you learn Japanese and practice everyday Japanese conversation. You can learn Japanese naturally through our family life, meals, conversations, and activities with our children. We would love to share expressions, vocabulary, and cultural differences in a relaxed and fun way. We hope our language exchange will be a two-way experience where everyone can learn from each other. -
Acomodação
We offer a traditional Japanese-style tatami room (washitsu) next to our living room.
The guest will sleep on a comfortable Japanese futon on the tatami floor. The room has a curtain that separates it from the living room, but there is no lock on the room, so please be aware that it is not a completely private space.

Our home is a family home, so it can sometimes be lively and busy, especially with four children. We are looking for someone who enjoys a warm, family-oriented environment and is happy to be part of our everyday life. -
Algo mais...
We also have previous experience hosting children from overseas. We welcomed two children, aged 10 and 13, into our home and enjoyed sharing our family life and Japanese culture with them.
This experience was very enjoyable for our whole family and gave us confidence in welcoming international guests into our home. We understand the importance of creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for children while also giving them opportunities to communicate, play, and experience everyday life in Japan. -

We welcome digital nomads and people who need some time for their own work or studies. Our main help is needed in the morning from around 7:30–8:30 and in the evening from around 5:00–9:00. Outside these hours, you will generally have your own free time to work, study, relax, or explore the local area. If you work online, please note that our home is a busy family home with four children, so it can sometimes be lively and noisy during the day. If you need a quiet environment for important online meetings or focused work, we recommend planning these during quieter times or using a café or other suitable workspace nearby. We are happy to welcome people who can balance their own work or studies with spending time with our family and children. We value flexibility, communication, and mutual respect, and we hope to create an arrangement that works well for everyone.
