We couldn't have dreamed of a better first experience as workawayers! There is absolutely nothing negative to say. We spent 3 weeks at Kaye's, and we really wish we could have stayed longer. … read more projects! The food was always delicious. Kaye really ensures that her workawayers feel good in every way possible. The children are so kind and endearing, it’s always a pleasure to play with them! We loved talking with Kaye and Hamish, and playing card games on many evenings! The house is very warm and you will quickly be addicted to the family atmosphere: run away if you don't want to be heartbroken when you leave! Being at Kaye was just as exceptional as discovering New Zealand. Besides, Kaye gives very good advice on places to visit! This workaway was the best experience of our lives, so thank you again. We really hope to see you again in France or New Zealand another time!
Romane and Marilou were an absolute delight to have in our home. They are both chatty, funny, intelligent young women. They worked very hard and willingly spraying around native trees. Emily and James were a delight to have in our home. They are a fun, intelligent couple who are always looking for ways to help out. While they were here they did a lot of weeding, removing invasive species and planted some trees. Their good work ethic and cheery attitudes were hugely appreciated. They were very helpful and tidy around the house
… read more and cooked some delicious dinners. Our young kids absolutely loved having James and Emily. They spent hours playing with our young kids and bought so much fun into the home. I would highly recommend Emily and James to any host.
We had a wonderful two weeks - thank you so much Kaye, Hamish and kids! The house and views are beautiful and we felt at home very quickly. It was a great routine of gardening in the mornings and exploring the area and coastline in our free time, as well as playing with the kids. We miss it already! Thank you!

After we would finish our work we had plenty of time to explore Dunedin and the surrounding area, a very underrated part of New Zealand.
Kaye has a way of making everyone feel welcome and if you are lucky enough to stay with her, Hamish and their three kids you'll start feeling at home very quickly and won't want to leave again.

The accomodation and the food was just absolutly the best, 11/10!
The house was always full of life and it was such a nice feeling being part of that. I had some great times playing with the kids, our game and puzzle nights, the dancing party outside,... I cherishe those moments so much!
When I was there, we were 3 workawayers in total and in our freetime we had time to explore Dunedin and the surroundings! Which was truly a pleasure!

She has a lovely personality and I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to meet her and everyone else of the family. The kids are very open and whenever you want to have company they are happy to play with you. You are going to take them to your heart really quickly. I stayed with Kaye and her family for 3 weeks and it was incredible! Definitely my favorite workaway experience so far. Kaye, Hamish, and their kids live on a beautiful hill overlooking Mosgiel and Dunedin, and it was such a joy to work on the hill and see super green hills and views. … read more new plants, and more. All the work was very simple and straightforward, and Kaye made the schedule easy. I worked from about 9am-1pm for 5 days a week. 2 days a week I had off to go explore. Kaye is a great communicator and everything was very clear and helpful. She has great recommendations for where to go exploring, and Dunedin is a fun city. I rented a bike one day and rode around town, and I explored some nearby beaches and hikes. It was all so great. Kaye's family is both fun and relaxed, and their household is full of energy and joy. The three kids (Will, Holly, and Bella) were fun to play with and they open up easily to the workawayers. I had my own room and bathroom, and Kaye's house is very clean and tidy. Kaye's food is very yummy and she is great at accommodating for diets. I don't eat cheese and she always made sure to keep that in mind for my food. Staying at Kaye's home was welcoming and I felt very good during the stay. The view and the house are amazing and the property is stunning. Everyone was really nice and friendly to me. While living with Kaye and her family there were two workawayers (Lily and Ella) from America staying, it was cool to have some company.

… read more holes to prepare planting (keeps you in good shape). It was cool standing on the steep hill in the wind and do some planting, good memories. Kaye grows the plants on the property by herself. There was more work to do including shifting plants or transfer them in bigger containers, so they can continue to grow. Sometimes I helped around the house, feeding the pigs and so on.
All in all I'm very thankful for the 3 weeks I was able to live with Kaye and her family.

I am glad that I could stay at Kaye's for a month. She and her family are really cheerful and caring. They have a lovely home. The job was really easy and calming and I hope one day I have a chance to see their wonderful forest. Highly recommend them.

I really enjoyed staying with this family. They welcomed me with open arms and I immediately felt like part of the family. Their house is full of positivity, life, and love.
