Our farm was founded in 1910. It started small, but soon the farm became the central meeting place in the area. The founder was an energetic man who wasn’t afraid to break new ground.
2014: Mireille and Willem were inspired by the nature, the location and the story. We knew immediately that we wanted to share this experience and we picked up the farm when the founder left. It combines history and nature with modern comfort and quality. We want our customers to feel at home, relax and be inspired.
We (Mireille, Willem and our two children) moved to this beautiful farm in Dalarna (Sweden) in October 2014. We moved from the Netherlands to Furudal because we wanted to break out of the rut we were in and to do something completely different. Also, the Swedish school system was appealling to us.
We love adventure, travel, nature, culture, and reading. We also enjoy spending evenings with friends, exchanging stories over a drink and a bite to eat around the stove or the campfire. Our motto is: Get the most out of life. Enjoy life whether you're at home or on vacation.

What do we offer? First, the opportunity to gain experience in our business and be inspired, but also to make a lasting contribution and bring us your ideas. We give you ample opportunity to enjoy the outoors and whenever we have time, we’ll show you the surrounding area.

We bought a small greenhouse two years ago and started assembling it. The greenhouse has a high IKEA assembly level, and after a first attempt, we put it aside for a while—it takes too much time! If you are handy and love puzzles, we could use your help to assemble and set up the greenhouse.
Are you an enthusiastic self-starter who likes being active and doing things? What’s important for us it is that you are independent (doing things that you see need doing, and saying what you need to do so) and have something to add.
We like to inspire you and get inspiration from you. If you have a driving license, that’s also handy. You are hospitable, and it’s important to us that you cook now and then or arrange something fun for us all to do together.
Not only do we have guests around our farm, but we also have two boys, so you must be guests—and child-friendly. We believe it's nice to stay and work with us as a couple or with our two friends travelling together. I could be a little lonely here when you're travelling alone. But it's up to you, of course!

Furudal is a small village on the countryside. It owns a small supermarket, bakery and the famous Furudals Hockeyschool. The nearest city is Rättvik, 30 minutes by car. Things to do in summertime: fishing, berry picking, hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing etc. If you enjoy the simple life, then this is the place for you.
