Our cooperative place is a Cultural and social space with a farm to table project open for breakfast, meals and coffee, we also will have yoga, and meditation classes. We will receive workawayers mainly with cleaning, manteinance and with our orchard,
The place is a coop. We are LGBT friendly.

You will share the house with us and our clients plus living in a social club will help you to meet locals and people from other places. Being our place a social and cultural spot in Montevideo being a urban community permacultural that will allow you to interact with both locals and turist and expats.

I thought about what to write here a lot. I’ll be very honest:
What I liked:
The people working at the restaurant. I haven’t met many people as kind, welcoming and caring as the people who work there. They are just lovely! It’s definitely easier when you speak Spanish, but there was always someone working who I could talk to in English.
What I… read more think should be improved:
There are a few small things, that I’ve experienced differently at other places where I’ve worked such as: not having to ask for everything like linens, blankets, towels, how the washing machine works, where everything is and when events are happening that I could be part of. In my opinion it would also be good to have a spot to hang your laundry that is big enough for two people (when there are three staying there) to hang their stuff, or rain protection, so the people can take turns when the weather is bad instead of hanging their laundry in the room. But these are minor things. A real problem for me was the room. In my opinion it desperately needs some updates for people who are influenced by their environment, to feel comfortable (the shower is barely attached to the wall, the toilet is old and moving when you sit on it, the placement of the plug in the room is not ideal, the curtains have a lot of mould spots in them,..).
When I arrived, two people were already staying there (~6 m2 room+a ~2m2 bathroom). The bathroom was dirty, the mattress really worn out and I could smell the mold in the curtains and mattresses. I got brand new sheets, cleaned the bathroom for 1,5h, stayed a few nights and booked a bed in a hostel after I’ve realised someone must have been smoking in the room and I just didn’t feel comfortable with the circumstances and the other two people living there.
The work was totally ok and most days pretty relaxed. I washed the dishes, helped cleaning up the outdoor space and painted walls upstairs. You can either do 5h a day for 2 meals, or 6h a day for 3 meals (5 days a week). The food is delicious and you can pick what you’d like from the menu or leftovers.

After all, I am still grateful for the experience. I just wish I knew about the sleeping/living situation beforehand and would have considered my plans and planned extra money for a hostel. Then I would have probably negotiated my work hours instead of being overwhelmed and taking a „sorry for the situation“ from Sebastian as the only response to the situation.

I really hope the overall situation for the Volunteers living there is going to be improved and communicated honestly in the future, because then I could wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone.

fue un enorme placer trabajar y conocer toda la gente aquí, lugar muy buena onda y donde se come riquísimo, se labura como que 8 horas por día pero por la habitación y la comida tiene q laburar 6 h entonces se pagan dos horas todo los días o que ayuda mucho. es un ótimo lugar para se trabajar!

Aaah, I am so happy I got the chance to volunteer here. Enjoyed it all.
It can be long days of working but the work is with genuine and good people so time passes by fast, you get the most delicious vegetarian food and free access to the yoga studio. For me this was a perfect exchange.

Conocer los chicos de aquí fue una re linda situación de vida, todos son muy amables y disponibles. El lugar tambien es un encanto y tiene muy buena onda!
Lamentablemente un par de cosas no corresponden: las horas de trabajo son más de 5/6 y el cuarto no corresponde (es un sótano)
Igualmente fue una buena experiencia. Gracias por la hospidalidad!!
