  I'm Denise, a single mom to a little son (10 months old), and I live with him and my dog on the Wilder Goschenhof, an old farmstead in the rural Franconian countryside near Wassertrüdingen, Bavaria. My son was born here on the farm, a place that holds very special meaning for both of us.
  
  My dog is a twelve year old, knee high mixed breed from the shelter, a sweet, loyal companion here on the farm.
  
  Before this, I worked as a project coordinator in the mobility industry, but the dream of having my own farm never let go of me. Over time, it became clearer and clearer to me that the system we live in keeps people far too disconnected from nature, and that this isn't good for us. So I decided to take this path, and I want to create a place for anyone who feels drawn to walk part of that path with me.
  
  Over the decades, the farm passed through many hands and was increasingly neglected. The old house unfortunately can't be saved and is gradually being taken down. But the ground floor is livable, kitchen, bathroom, a cozy guest room.
  
  My vision: a nature based, sustainable place rooted in the principles of permaculture.
  
  I'm currently working together with TreePlantingProjects on a regenerative planting project here on the farm, native hedgerows, traditional fruit orchards, and more, an important building block for greater biodiversity and a healthy microclimate.
  
  Right now there are no animals here besides my dog, but that's coming! Eventually, this place is meant to offer a home for retired and rescued animals too. We only have two neighbours, and there's plenty going on there too: a hobby horse breeder and a farmer with many cows, a dog, and cats.
  
  There's endless tasks to do: the garden, a chicken coop to build, a barefoot path and a composting toilet are planned, and the old house is being taken down bit by bit. A natural pond will soon take shape on the neighbouring meadow. This place holds endless potential. A peaceful place, close to nature and beautiful.
  
  I'm doing all of this largely on my own, with a baby on my arm, and I'm grateful for every helping hand who wants to pitch in and become part of this story and this farm. My greatest wish is to breathe new life into this place and turn it into a sustainable home for people and animals living in harmony with nature.

  Ich bin Denise, alleinerziehende Mama eines kleinen Sohnes (10 Monate) und lebe mit ihm und meinem Hund auf dem Wilden Goschenhof, einem alten Bauernhof in der fränkischen Einöde bei Wassertrüdingen, Bayern. Mein Sohn ist hier auf dem Hof geboren, ein Ort, der für uns beide eine ganz besondere Bedeutung hat.
  
  Mein Hund ist ein zwölf Jahre alter, kniehoher Mix aus dem Tierheim, ein lieber Hund und treuer Begleiter hier auf dem Hof.
  
  Vorher war ich als Projektkoordinatorin in der Mobilbranche unterwegs, aber der Traum von einem eigenen Hof hat mich nie losgelassen. Für mich hat sich immer klarer herausgestellt, dass das System, in dem wir mittlerweile leben, die Menschen viel zu weit von der Natur entfernt hat, und das tut uns nicht gut. Deshalb habe ich beschlossen, diesen Weg zu gehen, und möchte einen Ort schaffen für alle, die Lust haben, ein Stück davon mitzugehen.
  
  Der Hof ist im Laufe der Jahrzehnte durch viele Hände gegangen und wurde dabei zunehmend vernachlässigt. Das alte Haus ist leider nicht mehr zu retten und wird nach und nach zurückgebaut. Aber das Erdgeschoss ist bewohnbar, Küche, Bad, ein gemütliches Gästezimmer.
  
  Meine Vision: ein naturnaher, nachhaltiger Ort nach den Prinzipien der Permakultur.
  
  Aktuell arbeite ich mit TreePlantingProjects zusammen, um eine großflächige Regenerationsbepflanzung auf dem Hof umzusetzen, heimische Hecken, Streuobstwiesen und mehr, als wichtigen Baustein für mehr Artenvielfalt und ein gesundes Mikroklima.
  
  Aktuell gibt es noch keine Tiere außer meinem Hund, aber das kommt! Perspektivisch sollen hier auch Lebensplätze für ausgediente Tiere entstehen. Wir haben nur zwei Nachbarn, und da ist auch tierisch was los: ein Hobbypferdezüchter und ein Bauer mit vielen Kühen, einem Hund und Katzen.
  
  Es gibt endlos viel zu tun: Garten, ein Hühnerstall will gebaut werden, ein Barfußpfad und eine Trockentoilette sind geplant, das Haus wird zurückgebaut. Bald entsteht auch ein Naturteich auf der angrenzenden Wiese. Dieser Ort birgt unendliches Potential. Ein ruhiger Ort, naturnah und wunderschön.
  
  Ich mache das alles weitgehend allein, mit Baby auf dem Arm, und freue mich über jede helfende Hand, die Lust hat, mit anzupacken und Teil dieser Geschichte und dieses Hofes zu werden. Mein größter Wunsch ist es, dem Hof wieder Leben einzuhauchen und ihn zu einem nachhaltigen Ort für Menschen und Tiere im Einklang mit der Natur zu machen.

  Here you'll get hands-on experience with permaculture, from planting to plant care, while diving into simple, nature-close rural life, a glimpse into a way of living many have lost touch with in everyday life. The old knowledge of medicinal herbs and how to use them also has its place here. Since both German and English are spoken here, learning each other's language is a nice part of the exchange too.

  Bei uns lernst du Permakultur praktisch kennen, von Pflanzung bis Pflege, und tauchst gleichzeitig ins einfache, naturnahe Landleben ein, ein Einblick in eine Lebensweise, die viele aus dem Alltag verloren haben. Auch das alte Wissen um Heilkräuter und ihre Anwendung hat hier seinen Platz. Da bei uns Deutsch und Englisch gesprochen wird, ist auch das gemeinsame Sprachenlernen ein schöner Teil des Austauschs.

  It is a place in the making – and I'm looking for people who'd like to be part of that journey for a while. This isn't about finding workers – it's about genuine exchange: doing things together, learning from each other, and shaping something real.
  
  Depending on your interests and what you bring with you, we can do tasks in the garden together, build garden beds, trim hedges or create a barefoot trail. We can help with clay and try out clay plastering – sustainable and fascinating. Our first animals are coming soon, chickens and Indian Runner ducks – if you'd love to be part of setting that up, you're very welcome. A composting toilet is planned for the garden, a natural pond is being created, a hedge planted.
  
  Anyone with specific knowledge – whether in crafts, permaculture, gardening or anything else – is especially welcome. I'm open to your ideas and input. Where professional expertise is needed, I of course hire specialists.
  
  I'm usually helping alongside you, as much as life with a baby allows – we do tasks together, talk, exchange ideas. No pressure, no strict programme, just real shared doing.

  Der Wilde Goschenhof ist ein Ort im Werden – und ich freue mich über Menschen, die Lust haben, diesen Weg ein Stück mitzugehen. Es geht mir nicht darum, Arbeitskräfte zu finden, sondern um echten Austausch: gemeinsam anpacken, voneinander lernen, miteinander gestalten.
  
  Je nachdem, was dich interessiert und was du mitbringst, können wir gemeinsam im Garten werkeln, Beete anlegen, Hecken schneiden oder einen Barfußpfad gestalten. Wir können mit Lehm arbeiten und Lehmverputz ausprobieren – nachhaltig und faszinierend. Bald ziehen Hühner und Laufenten ein, wer dabei sein möchte wenn so ein Projekt entsteht, ist herzlich willkommen. Eine Trockentoilette soll im Garten entstehen, ein Naturteich wird angelegt, eine Hecke gepflanzt.
  
  Wer spezifisches Wissen mitbringt – ob Handwerk, Permakultur, Gartenbau oder anderes – ist besonders willkommen. Ich bin offen für deine Ideen und Impulse. Wo Facharbeit gefragt ist, hole ich mir natürlich professionelle Hilfe.
  
  Ich bin meist dabei, so gut es mit Baby eben geht – wir arbeiten zusammen, reden, tauschen uns aus. Kein Stress, kein Programm, sondern echtes gemeinsames Tun.

  You'll stay in the old farmhouse, in a separate part of the building from my own living area, so you'll have privacy when you want it, and company when you'd like that too. Your space includes a large, furnished room with a double bed, good mattresses, and heating, your own kitchen, a bathroom with bathtub/shower and toilet, and your own terrace. For groups of more than two, an extra mattress can be set up on the floor. WiFi is free, and you're welcome to use my washing machine if needed.
  
  Meals are self catered, with a baby I can't always cook regularly, but cooking together is always possible and welcome. I personally eat vegan/vegetarian.
  
  The house is old, and that's exactly what gives it its charm, not a modern accommodation, but full of character and little surprises. One real eye catcher in the bathroom: a historic "Dagobert" throne toilet, named after the Frankish king, with a verse by the French poet Alfred de Musset inscribed on the backrest and a bell that rings when you flush.
  
  Fast internet (Starlink, 500 Mbit) is available for your use.
  
  It's about an eight minute drive to the nearest shops in Wassertrüdingen, with beautiful forests nearby and plenty of tourist attractions in the area. The train station is also in Wassertrüdingen, and if you're arriving without a car, I'm happy to pick you up there.

  Du wohnst im alten Bauernhaus, im Nebengebäude zu meinem eigenen Wohnbereich, sodass du Ruhe hast, wenn du sie willst, und trotzdem Gemeinschaft, wenn du magst. Dein Bereich besteht aus einem großen, möblierten Zimmer mit Doppelbett, guten Matratzen und Heizung, einer eigenen Küche, einem Bad mit Badewanne/Dusche und WC sowie einer eigenen Terrasse. Bei mehr als zwei Personen ist zusätzlich ein Matratzenlager am Boden möglich. WLAN ist kostenlos, auf Wunsch kannst du auch meine Waschmaschine mitbenutzen.

  Verpflegung ist Selbstversorgung, mit Baby ist regelmäßiges gemeinsames Kochen für mich schwierig, aber gemeinsames Kochen ist jederzeit möglich und willkommen. Ich selbst lebe vegan/vegetarisch.
  
  Das Haus ist alt, und genau das macht seinen Charme aus, keine moderne Unterkunft, aber urig und voller kleiner Besonderheiten. Ein echter Hingucker im Bad: eine historische "Dagobert"-Thron-Toilette, benannt nach dem fränkischen König, mit eingelassenem Vers des französischen Dichters Alfred de Musset auf der Rückenlehne und einer Glocke, die beim Spülen erklingt.
  
  Bis zur nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeit in Wassertrüdingen sind es etwa acht Autominuten, ringsum gibt es schöne Wälder und einiges an touristischen Ausflugszielen. Auch der nächste Bahnhof liegt in Wassertrüdingen, wer ohne Auto anreist, kann dort von mir abgeholt werden.

  There's plenty to discover in your free time: hiking, cycling, and swimming right on the doorstep, around the Hesselberg and in the Franconian Lake District. Right in the village of Fürnheim is the Forstquell brewery, with its own traditionally brewed beer and good Franconian food. Nearby, in Röckingen, the Schmalzmühle offers cheese making seminars, with farm made cheese to buy and taste. Wassertrüdingen, with its train station and shops, is just a few minutes' drive away. For meat eaters, the Wirtshaus zum Blauen Angler in nearby Wörnitzhofen is a must – famous for its legendary giant schnitzel, barely manageable and absolutely worth trying. The medieval old town of Dinkelsbühl, one of the best preserved in Germany, is just 20 minutes away and well worth a visit.

  In der Freizeit gibt es einiges zu entdecken: Wandern, Radfahren und Schwimmen direkt vor der Tür, rund um den Hesselberg und im Fränkischen Seenland. Im Ort Fürnheim liegt die Forstquell Brauerei mit traditionell gebrautem Bier und guter fränkischer Küche. In der Nähe, in Röckingen, bietet die Schmalzmühle Käseherstellungsseminare an, mit hofeigenem Käse zum Kaufen und Probieren. Wassertrüdingen mit Bahnhof und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ist nur wenige Minuten entfernt. Für Fleischesser ist das Wirtshaus zum Blauen Angler im nahen Wörnitzhofen ein Pflichtbesuch – bekannt für seinen legendären Riesenschnitzel, kaum zu schaffen und absolut empfehlenswert. Die mittelalterliche Altstadt von Dinkelsbühl, eine der besterhaltenen in Deutschland, ist nur 20 Minuten entfernt und absolut sehenswert.
