We are a small community and live in a house in a forest and we welcome people coming to stay who would like to experience living closer to nature and experiencing being a part of a small community that is trying to live a more natural lifestyle (we are looking also for people who may want to make a home here long term) As the world changes and we see younger people struggling to find a Goodlife we feel we have something to offer as an older couple. We can offer mentoring and a life with meaningful work towards a better world and a place t call home with no worries of bills and so on.
We are looking for younger folk who want to eventually look after the place and build it forwards.

Mark and Jewels who are elders in the community offer mentoring for volunteers who stay. We are interested in people who want to stay for 6 months or longer as we know from experience that this creates a richer and more rewarding experience. Better relationships and general harmony.

Things we need help with include:
~ Weeding
~ Clearing brambles and bracken
~ Pruning
~ DIY for mending and repairing fences, gutter etc on the house
~ Wood chopping and fetching
~ Cleaning and tidying
~ Clearing weeds from the pond
And this kind of thing. We don't need help with tec or computers or childcare or animals.

The key aspect to coming to our community that we pride ourselves on is that we have enders in the community who offer mentoring of younger people. We also have sharing circles on a regular basis as we believe that the 'inner life' is as important as the outer life and how we spend our days doing tasks. We have found over the years that having this time to be together in these ways is what makes the community so harmonious and it is the main thing that volunteers express having benefited from.
The help we need is mostly outdoors and helping to keep the place looking beautiful. Sometimes we need help clearing roof gutters for example, or painting the old barn, or fixing a bit of fallen fence. And also a fair bit of weeding and general help with what grows here.

We have a few caravans here and you have one to yourself - it is basically off grid with simple electrics for powering a heater, a light and your mobile phone. There are hot showers and fully working kitchen. The food is shared and is all vegan.
We do though amazingly have really good wifi as they have just upgraded us to fibre. Some volunteers that come here enjoy running a little self employed business on the side to earn some pennies which we very much support.
We are in the middle of a huge forest and it would suit people who value living deep in nature and who are looking for some peace and quiet. There is no requirement to engage with the community, you would be invited to do that as much or as little as you wish.

We have high speed fibre broadband and wifi accessible in the living spaces and accessible all the time.
Small Campervans are welcome, no luton vans or horse boxes.
Strictly no cats (as they decimate the bird population) and well behaved dogs will be considered. Reptiels and other pets welcome.
