I live alone with my husky and am a software engineer for DreamWorks animation, working remotely. I am an ultra marathon runner, vegan, skier, and builder. I studied under Michael Reynolds at Earthship Biotecture and built this home for myself, inspired by his work. My place is new, about 2,000 sqft with a large attached greenhouse of about 10 ft by 50 ft, which features a greywater system like that of earthships. The home features natural materials (wood and plaster) throughout and is very comfortable all year long thanks to thermal mass, insulation, radiant floor heating and solar gain in the greenhouse.
I just bought a CNC machine so the current project is assembling it, and then to "print" a 3D relief mural onto either wood or foam, to then decorate the 50 ft long greenhouse wall both with that and with free hand cob sculpture.
A little about my motivation for being on here: the biggest reason is for help freeing my time spent on normal house work so I can get more time to focus on new projects like the one listed above. Beyond that, I have done some traveling and really love getting to know strangers both from this country and others.
I am also interested in traveling if someone comes along interested in the same destinations. I have the option to work from anywhere and can rent accommodation and help with travel logistics like car rental. I'm interested in places like Mammoth or Vancouver for skiing in winter on the other end of the temperature spectrum, Hawaii and central America (like Costa Rica) especially for trips focused on outdoor sports like snorkeling, trail running and natural building.

I believe the most powerful draw of this place is the mountain atmosphere, the forest, clean air, quiet retreat from the bustle of a city, and beautiful vistas. This area was a retreat for Hollywood stars a century ago.
Beyond that this is an opportunity to become familiar with the earthship concept as realized in a California mountain town, this includes: rainwater capture, greywater system, thermal mass as related to passive heating and cooling, gardening including the production and use of biochar, carpentry, stone masonry, lime and clay plaster, cob and adobe.
I've been building an earthship inspired home in the mountains near the closest ski resort to Los Angeles for the last 5 years. It's nearly done but I could use help finishing a few things and building an ancillary superadobe dome structure ala Cal Earth (which happens to be nearby) which I want to build as an extra bedroom in lieu of the house being built in that fashion due to the county not forthcoming in permitting that technique for the primary structure.

French because I love traveling there especially for the mountains and le tour de france!
I have a 2 bed, 2 bath house with the guest bed and bath available for use by a workawayer, with attached bath. The kitchen and common room are shared.
There isn't much local transport so one would want to have a car. There is space for parking. Otherwise the town is about 6,000 people at 6,000 ft elevation in the mountains. There are many trails including the PCT nearby, and others popular for hiking and mountain biking. The Mountain High ski resort is about 5 miles away so it does snow here in the winters though usually very mild with sunny warm days but cold nights. There is a very nice farmer's market in town on Friday afternoons.
