Anna & Olof are amazing!
We wanted to learn more about permaculture and therefore choose this Workaway.
It exceeded our expectation by miles!
The property is stunning and we enjoyed the work we could do; e.g. help building a chicken coop, making dragon fruit trellis, cutting and planting trees and much more.

Daisuke stayed with us for two weeks when we were experiencing a lot of rain, so unfortunately we didn’t get to do much work on the land. However when the rain eased Daisuke helped us to clear fallen trees and move large and heavy logs up slope in a traditional (manually intensive way). He also helped to sand and restore some antique furniture and
… read more carried out some general property maintenance (weeding and brush cutting). Daisuke is extremely polite, was very respectful in the home and super clean and tidy and appreciated being in nature. He shared with us some tasty Japanese dishes and we enjoyed our evenings together around the dinner table. Thanks for your hard work Daisuke, we hope you enjoyed your stay with us.

Olof and Anna are very kind and gave me so much experiences!!
From the first day, I lost my backpack but they helped me to call bus company, police station to find it and I can't thank enough for that!!
Also rooms are very tidy, there is a comphy bed, great view from terrace and you can have great meal(they are both good cooker!)

Also I recommend you to stay more than 2weeks with them if the time allows. From then, you get to used to the work and life there so it's gonna be more fun!
I'm glad that I have done my first workaway with them and hope to see them soon.

Jannika & Leander are such a lovely couple and it was our pleasure to be able to host them for two weeks. From brush cutting to chipping, general weeding and land maintenance, they were happy to get stuck in to all of the various daily tasks. They were also really helpful in the home and helped with prepping evening meals and even shared with us a
… read more couple of their signature dishes. Jannika & Leander were very respectful of our home and personal space and kept everything very clean and tidy. For the short time that they were here, they made a significant impact and we are very grateful. Personally, I enjoyed taking them on a nightwalk to the local national park to experience the nightlife there, and to some of our wonderful local craft markets. It is always a pleasure to share our way of live with those who truely appreciate it, like Jannika & Leander. Thanks Guys and if you ever make it back to our part of the world you are always welcome.

We were working five days a week and had the weekends off. The work was exhausting at times but always manageable. It was also quite motivating to know that delicious food is waiting for you once

Our humble Abode a two story mud brick house, originally built in the 80's by a fella called Bren who played a key role in Australia's first ever environmental protest movement who's efforts saved the pocket of Gondwana rainforest in the bottom of our valley a remnant of the big scrub.

These two are our first home hatched organic chickens. blondy and greyie We love our chickens as you will see... Grey-y sadly is no longer with us, she got taken by something, we think it could have been an eagle or a dingo ... :(
the bounty of our community food-swap combined with some of our homegrown pumpkins

I loved how they would take time to bring you around their land - showing you different types of fruits (even giving you a lil taste test too!). … read more christening my 20 year old cocktail maker and teaching me how to make the most amazing passion fruit cocktail and I love how it was inspired by the fruits we have growing here, plus, OMG can Claire cook a curry, with raw ingredients, all from scratch, along with freshly baked nan bread, just delicious.
Claire was always willing and happy to get stuck into the various tasks on the property, from weeding, cleaning, clearing Lantana, chopping/sawing and separating firewood. Regardless of the weather or task she was always upbeat.
We miss having Claire around the house and I hope she will return one day with her partner Harris, whom we would also love to meet.
Thanks Claire for your wonderful company, all of your hard work and your lovely little paintings, we will always have something to remember you by.

The work can be tough at times, not for faint of heart but it is also empowering and rewarding and with great company/good food awaiting you it is more than a pleasure to do! I have learned many new skills that I can take with me and Anna is more than happy to share her expansive knowledge on permaculture which has definitely peaked my curiosity. It is great fun to get your hands dirty and see your results of a hard days work.

… read more weather conditions and had a significant impact on the work we are doing here. Every day they would go above and beyond what needed to be done in more ways than one. Thanks to Margaux and Eva, we now have a new native plum area in our bush tucker section which will forever be named after them “Ligouffel Prunes” They were very interested in our projects and keen to learn. Margaux & Eva were also the perfect house guests, always helping in the kitchen to prepare meals and sharing some of their own cultural delights, which we loved. I will always have fond memories of our evenings together around the fire and kitchen table where we shared good food and wine. It was sad to say goodbye, I wish they could have stayed longer and they will forever be welcome back. I highly recommend Eva & Margaux. Thanks again for our lovely gift ladies.
