  Hello there, we now need 1-2 reliable, kind workawayers for winter and spring. At the moment, we have only one room available, so you must be ok with share one room if you are more than one. There is really only room for 1 person, but 2 if you are a couple or good friends it will be ok :-)
  
  We prefer not to have to get to know new people all the time, so a longer stay of a month or a few months is ideal for us - but it's also fine to contact us for a shorter stay...
  
  I am a busy mother of two great kids aged 7 and 11. I work full days as a glass artist. My workshop is in the same building. I have a glasstudio where we blow glass. There is also a gallery. So I have short way to work. In my spare time I like to hike in the mountains, workout as running, winter swim ( I swim all year around), play games with the kids, and many other things. My kids are very active and love all kinds of sports and activities, and my time is with them as much as possible. It is hectic days for all of us, but when we are well organised and the routine works, and the house is in a good state, we are all so much happier. This is my main aim, and I deeply appreciate the help from the workawayers who will make this possible; in return, I try to give an enjoyable stay, with enough free time to travel around and have some good experiences. I will try to get it right as far as I can. :)
  
  Our house is old but partly renovated. We moved to This place nine years ago, and the house is now a cosy and comfortable home - but there is still so much to fix and get in order!
  My main goal is to create a well-balanced life, time with my kids, and a welcoming home. My time is limited, and I need help with daily housekeeping, aswell as organising objects, easy work in and around the house, and garden. If you are an carpenter that i s very welcoming aswell. Our main goal is to have our home nice and tidy , as family life with all the routines are so much more easy and loving. I have lived a lot of places around the world since I was a kid, now I have found the heart where to live here in Lofoten. I love to travel myselves, and meet new people, and to learn about other cultures. I think this is a good way to be able to see and discover a new place and specially here in Lofoten , where the nature is spectacular in so many ways.
  
  This house is in the heart of Lofoten, in a town called Kabelvåg. We don't have much of a garden yet, but there is space around the house and nice view to the see and the mountains. We have the most beautiful morning coffee spot. The house is 3 minute walk to center of Kabelvåg, where you can find a couple cafes, restaurants, and a foodstore. As often I can I take a swim in the ocean. 15 minutes walk you are in the "backyard" taking you to nice hikes in the mountains. Lofoten Islands are so beautiful, it still takes my breath away sometimes. Here will be a lot to discover in your spare time.
  
  
  To visit Norway, residents of non-EU/EEA countries must have a visa or permit for Europe/Schengen. Please contact me only if you have the necessary permits - I cannot help with this, and Workaway cannot be used to obtain a visa or work permit.

  Depending on your interests, you can learn about all the ups and downs of family life and the logistics of running a household combined being an full-time glass-artist, English language, and Norwegian culture and society... You can hike, explore, ski, swim in cold weather, play piano, read, garden, play with kids, and do and learn many other things

  I can host one or two volunteers. The main tasks are at the moment, helping organizing all kind of stuff in and outside the house. Inside house, for example, setting up shelfs etc. The home needs after renovating, a lot of different cleaning. Regular tasks as keeping the house as tidy as possible. Also, there may be tasks like painting, decorating, and making changes and repairs. Outdoor tasks like gardening, building and keeping the property in order.
  
  I welcome single, couple or friend volunteers who would like to stay for a long time - one or two months, preferably not less than two weeks. Short stays are possible, but if you are looking for a long stay, I will be especially happy to hear from you.
  It is good if you can help systematically and quickly, or if you are a quick learner. You should do a reasonable amount of work and make good use of your time and effort. I appreciate any help with the garden, housekeeping, and buildings. There is always plenty to do, depending on the time of year, the weather and everyone's level of inspiration and energy!
  
  During your time here, we expect you to be interested in contributing and participating in our day-to-day life, and to observe, learn, and try to fit in, since you will live with my family with kids. We are looking forward to meeting and hosting volunteers, and appreciate the help given, and have every interest in giving you a pleasant stay with us.
  When we are well organised and the routine tasks, and the house is in a good state, we are all so much happier. This is my main aim, and I deeply appreciate the help from the workawayers who will make this possible; in return, I try to give an enjoyable stay, with enough free time to travel around and have some good experiences. I will try to get it right as far as I can. :)
  
  Some serious points (sorry):
  Please do not arrange to come here and then change your mind at the last minute. Even more important, if you do change your mind, for whatever reason, LET ME KNOW as soon as possible. I will leave a negative/no-show reference for anyone who does not come as planned and does not inform me. (Unless something very unexpected and serious happened, of course.) It's fine if you are hoping to get a job or a place in university, or if you just make other plans, but it is not ok to not tell me that you are uncertain, or to inform me on the day you were due to arrive that you are not coming after all...
  
  If you abuse the situation in a serious way, like violence or drug abuse, I may ask you to leave immediately and even report you. It may seem harsh to say this, but please do not come here if you have big personal or psychological problems; problems have a strange way of following a person, even to a new country and a new place, and it's important for the kids (and me) that you are a stable and positive person during your time here.
  I do not want you to stay here if it is not right for you, as you will be sharing our family life, and it is essential that you feel ok here and that communication is comfortable and honest.

  I have one bedroom for voulenteers, and you have access to the rest of the house including living rooms, kitchen, bathroom, shower, washing machine, etc. There is Wifi access throughout the house and a TV in the family room.

  Please note that you will be here as a volunteer, and that I cannot employ you. A workaway exchange will not qualify you for a visa or work permit if you are from a non-EU/EEA country.
  Your main motivation for visiting should be along the lines of volunteering, spending time with a family, contributing valuable and appreciated help, and experiencing the culture, in addition to enjoying nature and hiking/outdoor opportunities. If your motivation is only to find a free place to stay, you may find that workaway is not ideal for you. During your stay, I will do my best to make your time here a good experience, and make allowance for any other plans you may have - hiking, traveling, skiing, sightseeing, other activities, even online work - but you should also have a genuine interest in volunteering, contributing and learning...
  
  To get here, it is easiest to travel to Oslo connecting flight to Svolvær. (Svolvær, Helle airport is 15 min away with the car) or Oslo-connecting flight to Harstad-Evenes Then by bus service to Kabelvåg ( 3 h buss ride). Unother option is to go to Oslo- connecting flight to Bodø, then the ferry or speed boat across the fjord to Svolvær.
