News ! We have successfully built a small international community in our area. We are focusing mostly on a semi abandoned village that is close to our farmstay and the surrounding area. If you wish to live in the countryside and would love to be part of a community you might come to check out our project. We are starting projects related to agriculture, restaurant, yoga, music, art, drama, cafe. This side of the Abruzzi National park is an underdiscoverd pearl with a huge potential. We are now ready to integrate more people who have passions and dreams. Together everything is more beautiful and easier !!!
We are a yoga retreat center, farmhouse located directly between Rome and Naples - 2 hours from each city. This area is well connected by trains, buses, and highways and is easily accessible to guests without a car. We are situated at the foot of a beautiful mountain in the Abruzzi National Park, close to ample hiking trails, pristine waterfalls. The park itself is known for its wide variety of interesting fauna including the marsicam bear, the wolf, the lynx, the roe, the deer, the Abruzzi chamois, and the Golden Eagle. Although we are a farm in a rural area, the town of Sora (about 35,000 inhabitants) is only 40 minutes away by foot. In Sora, you can hike to an old church and castle, visit the open air market on Thursday mornings, eat local cuisine (such as truffles) at the many restaurants, sample real Italian gelato, and go to the numerous cafés, pubs, and shops along the lively main street. This region is a real treasure: an undiscovered gem in one of the most beautiful parts of Italy.

Our yoga retreat center/farmstay provides international environment with people from all over the world. Our volunteers learn skills related to agriculture, minor restoration. There are also daily yoga classes. When we offer the yoga classes in the afternoon the volunteers can participate for free.
Ajuda
The help of the volunteers varies a lot from season to season and from day to day.
Volunteers help in the morning and in the afternoon they are not required to help (during that time they usually explore the area or they spend time with the guests or they participate in the activities when it is possible). Volunteers also help with the lunch and dinner.
Accommodation and three meals per day. You can also participate in some of the activities such as mountain hikes, yoga and visit the "cheese making shepherd".
This experience is excellent for people who are willing to learn Italian and become immersed in the Italian culture we are happy to help you.
We speak Italian, English, Spanish and a bit of French.
When you contact us, tell us a bit about yourself, we will send you detailed information about our volunteer program so that you can think if this experience fits you.
Pruning. Depending on the season we engage in pruning of olives trees and fruit trees.
Weeding. Weeding in the vegetable garden is one of the activities.
Seeding and planting.
Collecting firewood. We have a fireplace at home and one of the activities is to collect firewood from the close by woods.
Helping with the feeding of the animals. We have a few animals on the farm. Two horses, two donkeys, chickens and ducks.
Preparing the meals (for ourselves and volunteers only, not for paying guests). Volunteers help with that.
Artistic tasks. If you have any artistic talent that you would like to share while at the farm let us know and we will see if that can fit.
Music. If you are an amateur musician

You will share the room with other volunteers. You will be staying in dormitory. We have two dormitory - one female and one male.

The volunteers go hiking in the free time. Go to the open market in the nearby town of Sora. From late spring to fall there are festivals on a regular base. Our volunteers enjoy the festivals a lot. They visit nearby villages and town on foot.
In general we do not like to host volunteers who spend lots of free time on the computer i but rather prefer to be outside.

The work is varied and enjoyable; I spent time watering vegetables, digging through a concrete floor of an old house and cleaning the stables. Being at Antonello's was a very enriching experience, mainly because Antonello know how to deal with volunteers, and gave us freedoom for working, makeing mistakes, and learning. "Everyone has to be happy" was the main rule, and was strictly respected.
