  We are a family of 4 living on beautiful Amherst island. We have 2 acres, a garden, chickens and lots of land to tend to. We would love help with general yard maintenance (weeding, grass cutting, watering), tending to the animals, gardening, other odd jobs, and occasional house cleaning in exchange for accommodation in your own newly renovated (off grid) 2 bedroom trailer, right in Lake Ontario. A beautiful location for the summer and shoulder seasons!

  We live in a very welcoming community. There are weekly markets and some tourist destinations. We’d love to meet people from other cultures (or fellow Canadians) and they can learn about our Canadian culture.

  Ajuda

  An individual or couple who love to work outside and have some basic yard and gardening skills. Likeminded travellers who love nature and are open to helping with building projects on the land (no building experience necessary) and tending to animals.
  We would also love to share the cooking responsibilities, so you will make 1 family meals each week, and we will make 1 meal per week (the rest of the meals you can prepare for yourself in the fully equipped trailer kitchen), as well as occasionally helping out with housecleaning. Looking for people to stay at least 1 month or more.

  Acomodação

  We have a nice and comfortable 2 bedroom trailer. The toilet is composting toilet, but there is a full kitchen and fridge. You can make most of your own meals in your space, but we can share 1-2 meals per week that we can both contribute to. The trailer is located right on Lake Ontario and has a beautiful view. It is a 3 season trailer and is very comfortable to stay from May to October, but too cold to stay in the winter. You can come in the house to do your laundry at an arranged time each week.

  We live in an island so you need to take a ferry here. It would be ideal if you had your own car, as it is quite remote and rural, but we do have an extra car you can borrow once a week for groceries and to go to town.
