Descrição
A cultural exchange at a Retreat and Conference Centre set in beautiful park like grounds - with bush covered walking tracks. We are a registered not for profit charitable trust and we host individuals and groups from all over New Zealand and around the world. There is a meditation sanctuary overlooking Lake Taupo and Mt - and we have beautiful views all around.
You can help in our amazing garden and grounds also in our kitchen with our friendly cook - who is happy to share her recipes with you. We have lots of projects going on year round we would love a helping hand with.

Connect will fun people, make friends and be part of the welcoming family environment. Lots to do, bush walks close by, hot pools a short drive away and the lake only is 15 minutes walk. Taupo also has bungy jumping, skydiving and the Tongariro crossing

As well as the above we sometimes have wood to chop and stack - we have a wood splitting machine.We have large organic vegie gardens and our housekeeper often needs help too.

We try to place 2 people to a room, sometimes we can offer solo rooms, if busy 4 to a room.
Heating is by electric heaters. Good hot showers.

I would highly recommend that the retreat centre. The staff are beyond amazing, the work is fair, and the grounds are beautiful. Volunteering at Tuahara is one of my fondest memories of NZ and I consider this place home. Definitely spend a couple weeks or more for a relaxed and intentional lifestyle with a lovely community. Work included housekeeping, kitchen, and garden projects.

The retreat centre was our first workaway experience. We stayed for two weeks and had an amazing time there. The work was fun and we met many other volunteers. Thanks for the lovely food, the good time (with table tennis matches lost to Phoenix) and for everything else.

My experience here was absolutely AMAZING!!! I met a lot of wonderful people (the best team ever ;) ) and the place is really beautiful. I loved everything of this centre. The town is pretty close too, you can borrow a bike to reach it or hitchike. (i also made it on foot)
