We spent two weeks with Mireille and Ernest and had a wonderful time with them and Elena, an other lovely and kind workawayer.
We worked together in the garden, helped with the indoor projects by taking of the wallpaper and often cooked in the evening.

It was always a pleasure to eat together, sometimes with some wine in the evening, listen to their funny storytelling and have many interesting and also personal conversations.
They take much effort to give workawayers the best experience possible with them, they took us to a concert and we met some friends of them.
Also, their dogs, Basil and Stacy, are super cute and we loved spending time with them!

Ruta and Mine were with us for a fortnight. They worked hard in the garden and also peeled wallpaper off walls. The Lithuanian soup Ruta had made will be a recipe we will prepare more often ourselves, it was delicious. The young ladies are hard workers and mainly enjoy the outdoor work. Mine is a real go-getter and showed good project management

When we approached Elena to join us, one of her first questions was whether there would be other Workawayers. We found Ruta and Mine who were here during the same period. Coincidentally, all the young ladies were from Germany. Elena also worked in the garden, took down wallpaper, painted and cooked with the other two ladies.

… read more funny and fascinating stories to tell! From the very first moment, I felt at home and welcomed as a friend.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t very lucky with the weather, but they gave me mostly indoor tasks. They’re open to many kinds of help, which makes the experience even more enriching. Ernest is a fantastic cook and a great instructor for all things handy, thank you for teaching me basic stuff 😁 Mireille is a bubbly person, she’ll introduce you to everyone and truly rely on you, all while sharing coffee and with deep or lighthearted conversations. Their home and garden are stunning, there is everything you need to feel comfortable, with a big and beautiful outdoor space (where there is great work to do !), the cutest dogs, cat, chickens and ducks, all surrounded by the pretty bocages and forests of Normandy. Fanny stayed with us for a fortnight. It was an asset to host a biologist with a passion for nature inhouse. She helped us sow in the veranda/greenhouse, collect seeds from the old flowers, take a soil sample in the newly to be created vegetable garden, prune and replant willows. Fanny is a vegetarian and we spent two weeks eating vegetarian

Simon and Nara spent two weeks with us. We had agreed before they arrived that they each would be given a specific task. Simon made an outdoor kitchen unit for us and Nara created a beautiful mural (5 metres by 2.60 metres). They also cooked several Argentine dishes for us. It was so amazing 3 weeks what we spent together with Mireille and Ernest! Both of them a very kind and funny people and super company. We talked and laughed a lot, never ran out of topics! 🥰

On rainy days we could work indoor, and we appreciated it so much.
We always did groceries together and Mireille also took us to local markets where we could experience the real mood of Normandy ☺️
Ernest is a master in the kitchen, his cooking and baking knowledge is marvelous 🤤
We will never forget these weeks and we are grateful for everything.

Mireille has a quite extroverted character, very wise & cheerful lady with a heartwarming laugh and a great sense of humour, always ready to help & teach, she took me and Léna to exciting trips to show us the beauties of Normandy. Ernest is an IT master, very funny, helpful & smart man, he has done an amazing job in his food forest and OMG he is such A GREAT COOK, each diner turns to an exciting gastronomic experience in this house. I will never forget our wonderful Indian cuisine night with Gilberte! Be ready for a good deal of laughter, they will share a lot of hilarious stories :)))
