  Hello hello!!
  We are the family, welcome to our work away. :)
  My name is Rune I am originally from Belgium. About 3 years ago I met the love of my life Berci in his home country Hungary. :D We unexpected got pregnant in 2019 and with full excitement we started the adventure of our life together! With some heavy hills to climb we got to the point of buying our own house in Hungary.
  
  We didn't have a lot of time or money to find the perfect place for us. Just because we had a little one on the way, so with a rush we visit many cool properties and farmer houses. We just didn't quit find what we were looking for, every place we visit there was just so many renovation works to do before we actually could even move in. It wouldn't either be a safe place to stay with a newborn, or even give birth.
  
  Mostly because our dream was to birth at home.
  
  So the journey of finding the perfect house took some time, We experienced some disagreements. And a lot of stress and worries because we had a deadline.
  
  But at the end we found a big house in a small village in Hungary. :)
  
  On this moment we are living a very simple life. So do not expect too many luxes in our place. Mainly because we are in renovations of our bathroom, building furniture, preparations of spring so garden work, having an 8-month-old around makes our day-to-day life pretty busy! Hahaha!
  
  Where will you sleep?
  
  We have a guest room that is outside in the garden, it is on this moment not the most cozy room of our property, but it does the job! That also includes that we are going to upgrade and renovate the guestroom too we just have not found the time to do so yet.
  
  We heat this room by a wood stove. It gets warm fairly quick…obvious to keep it warm inside, you will need to check on your stove regularly. But it is getting warmer outside, so I do think you won't need to heat all day long.
  Of course in the main house you are more than welcome to relax and join us in conversations and eat together. Or even watch a movie together!
  
  The shower and toilet inside you can use any time. That also includes the washing machine. :) Also, at night our door is open, so you can come inside anytime. Anyways, if you like some adventure you may pee in the garden too. ;P
  I hope you like/love animals because we have a bunch of them! Chickens, goats, pigs, cats and dogs!
  Oh! And our lovely old friend Dharma (who is our adopted ferret).
  
  What are our main goals this year?
  
  We have many things in mind that we would love to finish this year, but of course there is no rush. That also means we start with the priorities, those are:
  
  1) Building a heating system in our whole house from a wood stove.
  2) Cleaning up the Pantry, that also includes building closets to store our food, painting the walls, make a concrete floor.
  3) Building a glass green house, by using recycled old windows and sandbags! We will need a green house to be able to seed and harvest tomatoes, paprika, peppers, etc.
  4) Start to renovate the guest room and make it fancy! By painting the walls, building a bed with recycled wood, closets, etc.
  5) Finishing the bathroom, that includes installing our corner bath, painting the walls, placing tiles on the floor and walls. Also, we will be building closets for in the bathroom.
  6) And of course there is more to come, also we have maintaining tasks to do like keeping clean the garden, throwing out all the garbage from the renovations in a container, Etc.
  7) We will be needing help with harvesting a lot of fruits at the fruit garden, it is about 10min far from our house. That also includes we will need help preserving, drying, cleaning up the place, and eating a lot of fruits! :P
  
  Important to know:
  
  Do know we are specifically searching for people who are interested in helping us and living the simple life! We also like to ask to stay longer than 1 week min, due to needing the help. We cannot rely on people who only come for a few days.
  
  We are very open people and love honesty! That also means you can ask us anything, and you will receive an honest reply! :D
  
  We can provide for an internet connection, do know that our internet access is only in the main house. Sadly we are not able to extend it into the guestroom.
  
  Our small village Szank is accessible by bus from Budapest, you can also come by train and get of in kiskunmajsa, that is the nearby bigger city. And of course if you need help with the travel to our place, Berci knows the way. ;)
  
  In Szank you can find many small shops within 10minutes of walking distance. There is a lot to see in Szank, mostly nature walks in the steppe. :) But some lovely people to meet to!
  
  Chemical free living:
  
  We are very keen on not using any chemicals around our farm and in our daily life. So we kindly ask to not bring any chemicals into our home. Me (Rune) has very heavy asthma and i can get asthma attacks if i am around very heavy smells like, deodorant, perfumes, soaps, shampoos, etc.
  
  Berci next to that is very sensitive for those too, only he gets very heavy migraines. So please leave your chemical beauty products etc. at home. :)
  
  For this we provide for your organic homemade soaps and shampoos too use! :)
  
  About food:
  
  We have a fridge full of food, fruits (from the garden), veggies (from the garden), Homemade bread, in our pantry there is many more to find! You are any time welcome to make dinner, we love to experience and taste new flavors and dishes! By that, we adore cooking good food too.
  
  We eat dinner together as a family on our big wooden table in our dinning room. If you like some breakfast or lunch feel free to hop in the kitchen and prepare some goodness for yourself.
  
  Our daily schedule:
  
  We try to wake up everyday around 09:00 - 10:00. Then we have our morning coffee and would love to get a cup of coffee/thee with you in the morning. From 12:00 Balto will be having his first nap of the day, and then we start the work. So we do expect you to be ready with your morning by 12:00. :)
  
  Then of course it depends on the weather, but we mostly work until around 17:00. Or until it is dark. ;)
  This also includes that we have some daily tasks to do and ask you to help us with this like:
  
  Cleaning the dishes (hopefully soon well have a dishwasher! :P ).
  Feeding the animals, inside and outside. Of course that also includes giving them fresh water out of the well.
  Vacuum cleaning every other day around the house. Washing the laundry, drying the laundry, folding etc. Filling up the water destilator etc.
  Sometimes it would be lovely if you as a volunteer can take Balto and have some fun with him, he loves people and adores playing! :D

  Well, I have to admit the simple life is a rough patch to live.
  But there is much to learn and experience!
  Like: Harvesting fruits, drying fruits and vegetables, building with recycled wood, building an outdoor kitchen with clay, renovation work, canning food, etc.
  But not only that of course, we have a beautiful tradition as a Belgium and Hungarian that we would love to share and take you on adventures.
  We also live with a community about 10min far from us, that includes we have a very lovely social life that we would love to bring you to.
  That's said, we also have much knowledge about building, herbs, preserving food, essential oils, seeding and growing plants etc.
  Also, living chemical free is a total new chapter if you have never been living without those things, life makes it a lot more beautiful! :D

  I am from Belgium, so my mother tongue is Dutch. Berci is from Hungary so he speaks native Hungarian. We both communicate in English, and so our household contains at least 3 languages. :P We speak all 3 to Balto, if you want to practice some we are open to communicate in any language. :)

  There is a lot to see and experience in our small village, so long walks in the steppe is more than possible. Not only that we live about 1.5 hours from Budapest so if you want to go experience around Hungary Budapest is not too far, definitely worth it on your day off. :)
  
  If you want to go swimming and enjoy some spa treatment you can go to a wellness place in Kiskunmajsa about 10 minutes with a car from our homestead.
  We try to keep a low footprint on earth, we don't have a lot of luxes on our farm, expect to live very down to earth...
  
  In our village you can very easily take a bus to the next bigger city and go on adventures! :)
