Hi :)
My name is Zahra and I'm currently studying doing my master's in Philosophy in Montréal. I'm motivated by the little things in life, meeting new people, cooking, and learning new languages. I love making art, and working with my hands sewing and mending my clothes - I'd love to learn other skills like carpentry and just overall learn to make/build stuff by myself.

Hello!!
My name is Thomas, I'm French and Danish, currently studying my master's in Ecology in Paris. My main interest is in nature, its biodiversity and how to maintain and protect it. Observing and understanding how the world works is what drives me. I want to connect with the people we meet, share and learn as much as i can, and most importantly have lots of laughs and good times :)

We've both been planning to travel in New Zealand since highschool, to discover the culture, the landscapes and wildlife, but making kiwi friends while travelling in the last few years (best travel mates ever) just made it obvious that there's so much more to it and that we both decided to spend time in Aotearoa and see for ourselves.

We chose to travel together for a year to find new challenges in not only travelling but actual day-to-day life. We're eager to help you in your projects and experience new ways of living. Our goal for this year is to experience a more self-sustainable lifestyle, and keep learning essential skills.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We always love meeting new people, because of the stories that they carry.
We've each had multiple jobs in customer service (waitressing, cooking, sales, public services, etc) and it's given us the opportunity to put to use our social skills.
Zahra: I'm a little bit of a jack of all trades, so I can learn any job pretty fast. I've wwoofed (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farming) a few years ago and loved the experience. I got to bartend in a cider shed and work on a music festival as a assistant cook. I also like teaching: I've tutored math to students at a high school to university level and I taught a little bit of piano. I've also given dance classes! I'm a pretty motivated person, so I'm willing to learn to do anything as long as it brings good laughs and good vibes :)
Thomas: I love working with my hands, especially outside. Crafting and figuring out solutions to problems is an essential part of any project and I'm happy to contribute to that. I've worked with wildlife, in animal care facilities, but also in organizing conservation initiatives involving professionals and citizens together. Like Zahra I've wwoofed and it's been some of my most fulfilling experiences so far, we can be of good help on a farm now. This summer I'm gonna work in construction for a while so when we meet I'll have some carpentry skills as well.

Autres infos...

We both play music : piano, guitar, ukulele, singing (Zahra), and drums (Thomas). We absolutely love pets (both had cats/dogs growing up), taking care of animals can be the most therapeutic experience there is. We also both used to smoke and have stopped since!

Zahra: I'm a big cinephile, so talking about movies and also recommending music and good books are my love languages! For the last two years I've started doing theater (writing and directing plays with friends for fun), I love the community that it gave me, creating and building a project together -- it's a new passion of mine that I'd love to keep discovering.
