Description
Hello World! and every remarkable human being living with it :)
My name is Connor and I am typing stuff right now about me. No I am not illiterate, just a little goofy and interesting to say the least.
WHY AM I HERE! and where am I...? Well I have been travelling South and Central America with my partner for almost a year now (as of August 2026) and it's been a hell of an adventure! My passion and happy place is conversations - learning new things about you, him, her, everyone, culture and things I am unable to find in my home country of Australia.
Learning a second language has always been a dream of mine and right now I'm trying to develop a proficiency in spanish. I'd say I'm doing alright. and I'm commited!
I don't even know where to begin with my interests, I am always on the hunt to accquire new skills and try new things to see what sticks and what remains as an exprimentation. But I can certainly give you an idea of the sort of person I am: I love bikepacking (a new interest after cycling through the Peruvian Andes), I've surfed most of my life, I enjoy playing sports with other people, I've dabbled in rock climbing, and I've given close to everything else a crack. Except base jumping - but, I can see myself doing this at some point in my life.
When I'm not outdoors and moving my body I am spending time practicing my instrument, the keys, reading books about the mind, psychology, and anecdotes to journal and meditate on - but I also love a great sci-fi! And when I'm travelling, which is somewhat often you, can find me doing things I never intentionally had planned when leaving my home country like sweating it out during a 10 day Vipassana practice, teaching kids how to draw in rural communities, or completing my yoga teacher training and ending up in hospital after too many sun salutations (this happened). I am immensely curious by nature, so if your going to suggest something I don't know anything about, I'm probably going to do it just so I can understand it.
My travel style is slow. I like spending months at a time in any one country, and preferably in areas where I'm contributing and integrating into the lifestyle of the denizons. Whether that be becoming a part of another family at homestays, driving around a converted library-school bus, hanging at a surf hostal, creating new projects or helping with exisiting, I'm happy to lend myself as a person and whatever skills I have to offer. -

I am super eager to improve my fluency in Spanish and any opportunity to practice this every day is important to me. If this opportunity doesn't really exist with you, please let me know. In exchange I am happy to teach English (Australian English!) -

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
First and foremost
~ I am a people person. If you need some glue to create a bond between people in any given space; I'm your guy! I'm approachable, love giving other people the time to tell their stories, bring you into the fold if your on the outside, and have even been told on several occasions I can be pretty funny.
The serious stuff:
~ I am a civil engineer by profession (and degree) and my professional experience at home lies in project management. So if you need some hands on deck to get some flow happening with administrative tasks, I can turn the tap on for you.
The other fun stuff
~ I can teach people how to surf
~ I have a lot of experience working with children in different capacities; teaching them to swim, draw, english, math, reading, beach safety, you name it.
~ I can fix your spaceship (I'm pretty good with technology)
~ I can cook for large groups
~ I can teach yoga (although it's been a while since my teacher training)
I also have a lot of experience with agriculture from a technology side, to food relief support, to getting my hands dirty. If the project as a whole speaks to me I will consider helping in this capacity, although at this point in time it won't be a job role I would be looking to fill -

Living with Coni, Jorge and Jorgito was my first workaway experience and they really set the bar high for everyone else to follow. My partner and I stayed with Yovana, Alain, Swami, and Abuela in February and had a very wholesome experience living on their property.
