Hi there! Nice to meet you☺️ I'm Viola and I love traveling off the beaten path, meeting locals and saying yes to challenges!
I'm from Italy but this summer I'm really looking forward to experiencing something new, which is exciting but at the same time that gives me the opportunity to grow and connect with other people. My goal is to step outside my comfort zone🤗
I bring positivity, hard work and a good attitude towards people and the environment 🌳

I'm a fast learner and I enjoy hands-on tasks :)
I have experience with kids, basic DIY, basic gardening, cleaning and cooking.
I'm fit, energetic and good at working independently or collaborating with other people.
I most enjoy spending time getting to know new people, their cultural background and initiate a pleasant relationship. I'm also comfortable with animals, I love them!
My other hobbies are photography, going out with friends, outdoor activities and cooking my favorite dishes!

Staying at Sarina and Jonas's house has been a wonderful experience! It was going to be my first ever experience with Workaway, so I was a little bit nervous before meeting the family where I was going to stay for three weeks. Since the WhatsApp call that we did to get to know each other, they were super smiley and clear about everything, so they … read more immediately gave me super good vibes and at the end I decided that that was going to be the best choice for me, since I also wanted to stay in a quiet natural neighborhood but close to the city.

When I arrived Jonas picked me up from the train station and then showed me the house, which was exactly like the pictures shown in the profile! Super cozy and welcoming.
The main tasks were basically keep the house tidy, help around the garden and play with the kids. Not all tasks were mandatory, since they never forced me to do anything and there are many various activities to do so you will of course find your favorites! My favorites were to play with the kids, water plants, help with the cooking and keep the kitchen clean. The kids are very cute and have a beautiful bond with both of the parents.

They were always so kind, warm-hearted and they always cared about my safety. At the table laughter was never missing, they showed much interest about my hobbies, my life in Italy and my studies. They are also very smart and open to talk about also more important topics like politics and environment, which I really enjoyed.

Thanks to them I was able to make many experiences visiting Hamburg many times and Bremen. Sarina was so kind that she took the time to give me a notebook and wrote me itineraries in order to visit Hamburg in the best ways, tips, German movie recommendations and slang words. We also wrote together words that I didn't know and that would be useful especially with the kids, this improved very much the communication with them. In the house I tried to speak as much German as I could, but they also speak a perfect English so there were never problems with communication.

At weekends we spent a lot of time together (but you don't have to), visited Lünerburger Heide and had typical German lunch😋
The food was always very good, they always had many vegan/vegetarian products so I think that any person's need would be satisfied with no problem. I also used to cook lunch, because I love cooking and especially with a touch of Italian food culture ;). I cooked pasta, potatos, vegetables and meat/fish and I really enjoyed doing that!🍝🍳🍟🌭

It was the best first experience for me, I was so lucky to have found a family extremely kind, open and who loves to share their house with people, not only because they need help but especially because they are very insterested in getting to know every Workawayer's culture and traditions.
I will definitely come back to visit them and hope that they will take the time to have a trip to Italy 🥰
