  Description

  we are a young and fun family of four, with two little boys (4 and 1,5 years old), living in our house with a lovely garden located in a nature paradise right next to a big forest whilst being at the same time only 30 min. (by car or by train) away from the city center of Hamburg, the second biggest city of Germany!
  
  About us:
  Our friends would describe us as thinking ecologically, environmentally-friendly, social (we have done several multicultural voluntary work ourselves), multicultural, down to earth, simple family life, very hospitable and generous, healthy couple with good communication skills, humorous, direct, open-minded, lately somewhat stressed out, because of our kids and our construction projects in and around the house… we have family and friends helping us out from time to time, but some extra helping hands and new fresh faces around the kitchen table would be an enrichment to our lifes! We are interested in cultural exchange with you and can show you around our beautiful home region. We are excited to welcome you into our summer family life with lots of time outdoors in our garden :)

  What we can offer:
  - a quiet, private and perfectly cool room in summer in the Souterrain area with an own front door, for a max. of two people
  - homegrown veggies, daily healthy and filling homecooked meals (even though we aren’t vegetarian, we are experts at cooking delicious, healthy and filling vegan and vegetarian meals)
  - a train station 10 min. away, train to Hamburg city center takes only 24 min. and departs every hour, from there you can get everywhere by train or plane (train to Bremen also every hour, takes 60 min.)
  - trips to nearby natural sites by bike or by car – we have enough bikes and a 7-seat-van (to beautiful lakes and rivers for swimming, nature park “Lüneburger Heide” for hiking, trips to the beach at the Baltic Sea (we also have family there on two farms)
  - contact to organic farms (the nearest is next town, belongs to my brother-in-law)
  
  - teaching you how to…
  ... grow your own veggies
  … cook delicious and healthy at the same time – we are pros at cooking
  … basic handcraft skills like building stuff with wood, electrics, etc.
  … English and German language (we also speak Portuguese, except for my husband), I am a graduated A-level English teacher and German-as-a-Second-language teacher

  Just talk to us about the way and the time you want to help, we are flexibel :)
  Still, here are some ideas about what we could need an extra pair of hands with:
  - child care (mostly playing outside in the afternoons while we work in home office, him as a software engineer, me as a teacher, we can talk about pocket money for this task)
  - garden projects together with us:
  • painting a fence and gate – you can get creative and colourful, we are open to ideas!
  • building a chicken house
  • building wooden playing structures (swing, jungle gym, tree house)
  • growing and harvesting our own fruits and veggies
  • household chores

  Hébergement

  a quiet, private and perfectly cool room in summer in the Souterrain area with an own front door, for a max. of two people, about 18m2
  We will always have a full fridge and kitchen for you (we eat breakfast varying between 7 and 8.30h, we eat freshly homecooked lunch between 12 and 13h and dinner at about 17.30 h, you are welcome to join us, but you can have your own rhythm, we will leave some food for you :) - we always have plenty of different great foods!

  Yes, your room is quiet and has Fibre high-speed internet and wifi! We can add a nice desk, and equipment like keyboard, big screen etc. We've got it all!
