 - Description- Hi hosts!
My name is Thomas (23), I'm from Canada, and I'm currently biking across Europe from September onwards! I’ve made it from Lisbon to Santiago all by bike, and am now headed East through Spain towards France. Below is some more detailed information about me, but in a nutshell, I am a cheerful and motivated cyclist/artist who's excited to lend a hand in your space however I can while finding creative inspiration along the way. In my hometown I'm a community worker - I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their experiences.
 What sparked my trip:
I recently graduated with a combined degree in sustainability/anthropology and quickly began working as a community arts facilitator. After spending the summer helping different communities around my city work on creative projects, I felt inspired to embark on my own creative journey of sorts. Combining my love for cycling, interest in the arts, and care for the environment, I plan to cycle across Europe while stopping in artistic/creative spaces that could use an extra hand. My own art practice consists mostly of ceramics and printmaking for local musicians, but I love taking on multidisciplinary projects.
I have experience in Farming/horticulture, art projects and studio tasks, youth engagement, eco planning and sustainability management, basic construction projects, etc. I'm never afraid to get my hands dirty, and am used to learning on the fly! While I'm hoping to spend time in artistic spaces, I will likely stay in several places throughout my journey and am happy to provide all kinds of different help when needed. I included a more detailed description of my skillset below.
 With care,
 Thomas

 - Quelles sont vos compétences ?- About my current work in Canada -
The non-profit organization I work for runs the "art biker" program where artists are hired to cycle out trailers of art supplies to different communities around our city. Upon arrival in a new community, we set up a project for people to work on individually or collaboratively. Our events are intergenerational and typically draw in people from many different backgrounds - I can provide some pictures of projects I've worked on if that's something you're interested in!
 Additionally...
 - I have hands-on experience in regenerative horticulture and am very comfortable with farm work and garden tasks. I've done volunteer stays through World Wide Workers on Organic Farms (WWOOF) and have also worked as a paid farm hand in near my hometown in Canada - I would be happy to provide a reference/contact for that.
 - Through my education, I am knowledgeable about sustainable planning and large-scale systems thinking
-The communities I currently work in as an art facilitator typically have many younger participants, so I'm very well-versed with childcare and youth engagement.
 - I have artistic experience in ceramics, printmaking, and mixed-media crafting, and would love to provide assistance in-studio if that's something you're looking for. I also love aquiring new artistic skills and am open to learning in a away that's helpful to you!
 - I can handle most basic construction tasks, especially if there is a creative aspect to it. I'm also not at all shy towards manual labor/more physical tasks!
 - Lastly, my first language is English and I would be happy to provide language guidance/lessons formally or informally. I also have conversational French skills.

I cycled into Soublecause in the middle of a long bike-packing journey across Europe. Who would’ve thought that I would cycle out a week later with new friends and a heart full of love for this place. If you get the chance to stay with Mo and David, don’t hesitate to take it - every day you’ll have a belly laugh for… read more
