Description
Hi there! My name is Sydney (she/her) and I'm from Coastal Northern California, USA.
I recently graduated college and have been working on farms/ranches/homesteads for 3+ years now. I'm passionate about working with livestock and sustainable food (specifically meat) production. My favorite animals are sheep, and I'm a big fiber artist/wool craftsperson.
I am an amateur basket weaver, animal lover, sunbather, songsinger, food enjoyer, and many other things. I have spent significant amounts of time living outdoors and have a deep love for being in the in community.
I am interested in working on farms and hopefully expanding my knowledge of livestock care/meat processing.
I'm seeking a situation that allows me to be in community, whilst also hopefully making a little bit of money and working towards building more farming skills.
I grew up in CA but have made most of my adult friendships on the East coast, so I'm back out here seeking new friends!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am well versed in livestock farming, specifically working with cattle and small ruminants (but also pigs and poultry).
I can move animals, set up and take down temporary fencing, monitor grazes, administer minor veterinary procedures (vaccinations, castrations, hoof trimmings), drive trucks trailers and tractors, stack hay, etc.
I'm still relatively new to farming but have more experience than the average person my age.
I have a bit of produce production experience but not a ton.
I'm a good cook, a fun community member, good at cleaning and organizing and have worked in childcare here and there.
