Hi !
I'm Stephanie ! I'm 34 years old.
My first workaway experience was in New Orleans (Louisiana, USA), working in a backpacker hostel. Thanks to this job I've met a lot of different people from all over the world.
I like to exchange my experience with people and learn about different culture with them.
After that I was in Quebec City in December 2016. I was helping a family as a child care (in St Elie de Caxton) and another family (in St Basile) to do some work in the house (I broke open a ceiling in order to build another one). (Everything thanks to workaway/helpx). More recently, I was working in a backpacker hotel in Montréal for a month as a receptionist and housekeeper, I was gardening in a resort in Lac Ste Marie, Québec and I was working as a housekeeper in a hotel : Auberge Amérik in Québec City. The last experience was in Hawaii in a coffee and macadamia farm. I had to prune the coffee trees and to pick up macadamia nuts. It was a really good experience!
I like travelling, I think workaway is a good way for that. You can meet a lot of great people, discover their way of life and their own town.
I don't know everything but I am willing to learn new skills. I am hardworking with good attention to details. I am a doer, I take initiative.
I have experience with children. I was living with someone for 5 years and his 2 young kids. I also did some babysitting and I was an au pair in Madrid, Spain, for 2 month. I can take care of babies as well.
I like to learn new skills so I will be very happy to help even if I don't know how, if you can teach me.
I have a diploma in tourism and hospitality. I worked in many place such as Disney World in Florida, I was in Mallorca in Spain, I worked in travel agencies in Montréal and Italy, in a hotel as a receptionist in Montréal ... I have a lot of experience in customer service.
I speak French, English, Spanish and Italian.
I have learned about communication when I was studying at school.
I like the photography.
I like to hang out with people from everywhere, I love cooking (especially French meal), hiking, biking, skiing...
I like playing board games and card games, reading a good book or watching a good series or movie.
I am very interested in living and learning about your way of life. I can teach you French and I will practice my English.
I am a cleaned and organized person and I would like to find a place like that.

My next trip will be in Japan, I will be in Japan 3 months. During 45 days I will walk on Shikoku's pilgrimage. Then I have no plan but I would like to live and discover more the japanese way of life by helping you. I am learning japanese : it's my 3rd year of class with a japanese teacher and on Duolingo. I would love to practice and learn japanese.

Sorry Rick for my late feedback ! It was a amazing time at the pizzeria. You will learn how to make a pizza and everything else in the menu (quesadillas, frittata, sandwich...). Génial, excellent !
Notre séjour d'un mois était au top ! Le travail n'est pas compliqué (4h par jour de travail : soit le ménage le matin entre 10h30 et 14h30 soit la réception l'après-midi entre 14h30 et 18h30 si vous parlez Français et Anglais, avec du repassage et du pliage de serviettes en plus). Nicola est vraiment une personne très… read more sympathique, bienveillante et qui prend soin de ses workawayers.
Nous partageons un logement avec tous les workawayers, au dessus de l'appart de Nicola. Il est situé à 2 minutes à pied de l'Auberge. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans le logement : cuisine équipée, salle de bain, salon. Il y a 4 chambres dont une que vous pourrez partager avec un autre workawayer. Nicola aime faire des BBQ, on en fait souvent un par semaine et le dimanche soir c'est Pasta Party (des pâtes bolognese à tomber) :) Il est toujours de bons conseils que ce soit pour des restaurants, des places à visiter ou autre.
Nous avons beaucoup aimé travailler ici, l'ambiance est vraiment très bonne, Nicola est super et toujours positif, Julie, Alex et Lissette du restaurant sont adorables et très drôles! Vous avez un repas par jour (matin ou midi) au restaurant. Les petits déjeuners sont très copieux :) et le midi il y a toujours du choix. Nous avons même été cobayes pour de nouvelles recettes :) On peut toujours prendre un jus ou un café pendant notre travail c'est très agréable.
Nous nous rappellerons toujours de notre séjour ici tant professionnellement que personnellement.

We stayed a month there and we had a really good time! It is not a complicated work to do (4h/day : cleaning from 10:30am to 2:30pm or reception if you speak french and english from 2:30pm to 6:30pm - with some ironing and folding towels and sheets). Nicola is a very nice guy, kindly and he takes care of his workawayers.
We share an apartment with all the workawayers. There are 4 rooms including one you will share with another person. There are a kitchen, bathroom and living-room. It's situated 2 minutes walking away from the Auberge. Nicola likes the BBQ, we often do once a week. On sunday it's Pasta Party (a really good bolognese). He always has good advices for restaurant or place to visit.
We really enjoyed to work here, there is a good ambiance. Nicola is always positive, Julie, Alex and Lissette from the restaurant are very friendly and funny. You can eat once a day there (usually in the morning or for lunch). The breakfast is really good and generous and you have nice choice for the lunch.
You can take a juice or a coffee while you are working.
We will always remember our time there as professionally as personally.

Merci à Alain pour sa gentillesse et son hospitalité !C'était vraiment sympa ! Il nous a accueilli 10 jours dans son domaine au Lac Sainte Marie.
Nous avons fait surtout du désherbage pendant notre séjour, deux jours de ménage et un peu d'ordinateur/internet (photos du domaine, retouche de photos, montages photos avec Photoshop,… read more journal des dix jours pour le présenter aux autres workawayers).
Il aime avoir des voyageurs du monde entier chez lui. Il est très reconnaissant de notre travail au domaine.
Les workaways sont nourris et logés. On va faire les courses avec Alain. Il demande toujours si on a besoin de quoi que ce soit. Tous les soirs on mange tous ensemble; chacun à son tour prépare un repas de son pays pour le partager tous ensemble.
Il y a beaucoup de logements on peut être plus de 3 en même temps.
On peut utiliser les kayaks/paddle boards quand ils ne sont pas utilisés par les clients. Nous sommes aussi partis pêcher avec Alain un soir, c'était vraiment le fun !
On peut se baigner dans le lac faire des balades le long du lac. Par contre si vous n'avez pas de voiture vous ne pourrez pas aller bien loin car il n'y a pas de transport en commun dans le village de lac sainte marie.
Alain est venu nous chercher à l'arrêt de bus de KAZABAZUA qui se trouve à 10min en voiture de lac ste marie.

He welcomed us for 10 days in his resort in Lac Sainte Marie.
We almost weed all our stay there. We also did cleaning 2 days and computer (taking pictures, retouching pictures and photomontage on Photoshop, writing a diary about the 10 days)
Alain likes to have people from all over the world in his place. He is very grateful about our job.
we are fed and housed.We go to the grocery with Alain. And he always ask us if we need something. Every night we all eat together. We all have to prepare a meal from our country to share with the other.
He has a lot of place to stay so we can be more than 3 workawayers at the same time.
We can use the kayaks and the paddle boards when the clients don't use it. We also went to fish with him an afternoon. We can take a bath in the lake.
If you don't have a car it will be difficult to see around because there is no public transportation in this village. Alain went to pick us up at Kazabazua when we arrive at the bus stop.

Les 10 jours passés avec Thaïs, Emmanuel et les enfants (et Hanna) étaient juste super ! Malgré le temps grisonnant et neigeux on a pu passer de bons moments, une tasse de thé à la main ;)
En tout cas je recommande cette famille! Cyril et Constance sont juste adorables !
J'espère vous revoir bientôt !

6 jours passés extrêmement vite !! Stéphanie est une fille aimable, gentille, douce, elle n'est pas ‘‘tannante’’. Elle cuisine à merveille, tout ce qu'elle fait est bon ! Ils nous feraient plaisir de la revoir et partager des merveilleux moments avec elle.

La description de Julie et d'Yvon est "bin correc" ;) Ils sont tout le temps joyeux et aiment rire !
On se sent tout de suite à l'aise avec eux et comme chez soi dès qu'on passe le seuil de la porte.
