Description
The recording studio we have been spending lot of time, energy, love and savings over the last 6 years is finally finished.
We are now looking for SKILLED (please send links to samples of your work along any request) SOUND-ENGINEERS, PRODUCERS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, VIDEOGRAPHERS and WEB DESIGNERS who would like to help PRO BONO local indie artists playing acoustic music, pop and rock with real instruments and not mainly synths or samples.
We do insist on the "SKILLED" since our position is not a holiday camp where people can learn new skills or get an initiation to music and image production; ONLY volunteers WITH experience are welcome.
In case you were wondering what "PRO BONO" means:
* adverb
(especially with reference to legal work for a client with a low income) without charge.
"the attorneys are representing him pro bono"
* adjective
denoting work undertaken without charge, especially but non only legal work for a client with a low income.
"pro bono legal services"
We use STEINBERG's NUENDO as DAW (with quality Waves, Soundtoys and a few other plugins) and a MIDAS Venice F32 as audio interface and hybrid mixing desk.
Please also note that we are not a bunch of "Hippies" as one of the latest workawayers wrongly assumed; we are focused, dedicated and hard workers.
The studio is not a place to have fun but one where we aim to produce quality projects: we have ZERO TIME to waste with wannabes and/or pretenders!
Thanks for your understanding.
Please read the WHOLE profile (including the calendar to make sure that there is availability for you at the time you would like to come) and please do not waste our time if you are not genuinely interested in coming to give a hand: indeed, we already spent countless hours replying to people who did not bother letting us know that they would not come in the end in spite of enthusiastic initial requests...
After rather bad experiences in the past, please also note that we only use WorkAway messaging service on weekdays. (it means that we never reply to any messages on Saturdays and Sundays, which can translate into delay for replies, so please keep this in mind when you use the service).
Therefore, do not ask and/or give us Whatsapp/Line/IG/etc. ID: it also means we do not expect any endless ping pong messages and we expect you to be courteous and organised when you contact us.
Thanks for your understanding.
Furthermore, we do not accept any requests made six weeks or more before your actual visit: please send us your request a couple of weeks/days before your planned visit to the studio.
P.S. We got quite a few requests from musicians and or singers volunteers who assume that they can come to the studio to record for free.
Please note that the free hours of recording our association yearly gives are ONLY for THAI artists; if you like the studio, you will only be able to book it as normal clients.
Therefore DO NOT CONTACT US as volunteers with the hope to get service free of charges since it WILL NOT HAPPEN.
Thanks for your understanding.
P.S.2. Please note that volunteers are responsible to get the right to enter the country; we will not provide any kind of document for any kind of visa application.
Thanks again for your understanding.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Volunteers will stay in a local village and experience real Thai daily life far from the touristic places.

We are looking for skilled people ready to be part of the development of aspiring local artists.
We would like to provide them the best recordings we can and if we have the human resources available at the studio, we would like them to have proper visual presentations.Langues parlées

IKEA bunk beds in the guest musicians room.
NO SHOES,
NO FOOD,
NO DRINK,
NO SMOKING,
NO BURNING MATERIAL (such as mosquito coils or incense sticks or anything similar which could start a fire)
allowed in the room covered with pinewood paneling!!!
We are very strict with that and if you do not respect that rule, we will simply ask you to leave.
+ You will arrive in a clean room and we expect you to give it back the way you found it; which means you will have to take care of the laundry (washing and drying) of the bed-sheets before your leave.
P.S. even if we provide a nice accommodation, we are not a guesthouse, so please bring your own towel along your soap and shampoo.
UPDATE: we are currently facing a heat wave in Thailand and in consequence, the bedroom of the studio in which you will sleep is quite hot these days (especially during day time but it is getting cooler at night time).
Indeed, the aircon has some problem and does not work for the moment.
Nevertheless, when opening the bedroom's windows during the day to let the fresh air coming in, the temperature of the room is totally fine at night time.
Please also note that we do not have any curtains in the bedroom.Autres infos...
* NO DRUGS ALLOWED at the studio and in the neighbourhood: it was Thai law for many years until a recent unclear change of situation which saw the booming of registered Amsterdam's style "coffee shops" but public polls show that the majority of the general population is very unhappy with that "legalization" and wants to go back to old penalizing laws.
The rule is simple: NO DRUGS HERE!
* NO ALCOHOL allowed; we are an officially registered legal entity and we need to be exemplary; so alcohol is also not allowed at the studio.
If you want to drink, you will do it at the dedicated party places far from the studio.
* Please note that we are following WorkAway guidelines regarding the number of hours expected, so we will only provide a nice accommodation in a local environment away from the touristic beaten path in exchange of 2 to 3 hours of work per day (but for days we are working about 5 hours, we will provide you with local Thai food which is amazingly tasty ;-). Also, please note that we are only working on weekdays (for exceptional reasons, we might ask for your help on weekends).
Please note, that we will provide you detailed directions to come by cheap public transportation (about 40 THB from Khao San Road, 60 THB from Victory Monument, 100 THB from DMK airport and 110 THB from BKK airport), so it will be part of the whole experience among locals but we will not cover the cost. Also, please note that the average time of transportation will be about 2 hours from Bangkok city and about 3 hours from the airports.
The welcoming time of the volunteers is from 11 am to 4 pm on the agreed date (not on weekends). Please understand that we do not live in the area of the studio, so you will find a closed (container) door if you come outside this frame of time. Thank you for your understanding.
You will also have to get your own food in the village but please know that since it is a very local areas, usual dishes cost between 45 and 80 THB unless artists (it is up to them, there is no obligation) are happy to reward you with food and drinks; that's something you will have to deal with them.
* the kitchen that we have is very basic: we have some plates, glasses, cutlery and a kettle. But we do not have any kitchen appliances to cook or warm your food at the moment (but you can find hot food in the village, do not worry). Please also note that there are some little water leaks in the kitchen that still need to be fixed.
* you may be asked for help with tidying/cleaning the studio in order to prepare it for potential artists. Indeed, we may ask you to help us with some basic cleaning works, to water the garden, to wax the floor... Just some basic things to prepare the studio in case someone is interested in coming to the studio, so if you are not scared to make your hands a little dirty, it would be great to get some of your help with that!
* we cannot guarantee you that there will be artists coming to the studio during your stay with us.
* It came to our attention that many hosts on WorkAway were surprised by the fact a large amount of volunteers do not read profiles and just send copy and paste requests. Therefore, to make sure you have read and understood the conditions, we ask you to put in the title of your request the following template: "Skilled [your position (for example, sound engineer, photographer...)] available for pro bono help". We will decline any requests otherwise.
Thank you for your understanding.
* Please also note that since we are a not-for-profit organisation, we will not authorize any commercial transactions between you and the singers and/or bands, only food and drinks are acceptable and welcome but ZERO MONEY INVOLVED!
So, if you had the intention of using the place as a networking one to get contract please find another one with people on the same page.
Thanks for your understanding.Informations complémentaires
