Hello!
My name is Marjie and I am the youngest of six children and have a twin sister. I grew up in Baltimore City, Maryland, USA but now live in a beautiful little town in Pennsylvania. Growing up we had 36 exchange students from all around the world and that made me fall in love with the idea of traveling. I have since been to more than 25 countries, including doing my internship in Uruguay to finish Culinary School. In addition to being a Sous Chef at Hanover Country Club in Abbottsown, Pennsylvania USA. I have worked every job in a restaurant except a bartender. Dishwasher, prep cook, pizza maker, food delivery ,waitress, Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Saute Chef. I enjoy Organic gardening (Permaculture) and growing vegetables, herbs, roses and fruit trees. I bought my first house (130 years old) and had to learn very quickly how to fix many things by myself. I pulled down many layers of wall paper. Painted for hundreds of hours, pulled up carpeting, pulled down ceilings and lighting, sanded floors and learned to do a little plumbing!! I enjoy reading, foreign movies, drawing, cooking and gardening of course, and am learning how to dance the meringue, salsa, from my twin sister. I am also an animal lover and have 3 cats that I have rescued ( well, they really found me!) I like the city as well as the country and can be content in either place. I also love the ocean (who doesn’t?) I enjoy the company of older people, because they are more honest and know so much more about life and what is important. I also am very fond of people from other cultures, since I am very curious about other peoples way of living and perspectives of the world. I have officially done Workway three times (once in Ireland and twice in France) but I became friends with one of my hosts in Vals les Bains, and went back a total of 8 times. Its now time to expand my views of France and can’t wait to meet new people and learn as much as I can, ESPECIALLY about French cuisine!!!. How can I help you???!!!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Organic Gardening, photography, using all equipment in a professional kitchen, hammering, weed eater (strimmer), lawn mower, all gardening tools, painting, sanding by hand and with machine, cleaning, animal care, computer (basic), driving-manual and automatic, power tools-drills, electric saws. All house hold machines. I can also read and speak a little Spanish. I can read French recipes and understand very basic French.
