Hi, I'm Siwon from South Korea.

I studied air transportation at university and want to work as an air traffic controller. I thought I would start my career straight after graduation as it had been my dream job since I was little. But turns out I'm adventurous and eager to explore the world first;)

I lived in Australia for 2 years working and travelling. It was a life changing experience. I discovered that I love trying new things, taking on challenges, meeting new people and enjoying nature.

I've been travelling since March 2026 starting in South Asia. I learn a lot from people I meet on the road. Every single person I interact with reflects on me. It's always surprising to see how much I've changed during my journey. Especially, how much I enjoy meeting new people and listening to their stories, considering I used to say I didn't like people and that being alone is the best.

That's why I started Workaway. I'm genuinely curious about other's life stories, and Workaway is a great chance to get close to locals' lives and become a part of their story, rather than just watching them as a tourist.

Plus, I love everything about the outdoors—hiking, swimming, road trips, and mountains. Being in nature truly makes me happy and allows me to be myself. Slow travelling in nature and volunteering sound more appealing to me than ticking off famous tourist spots in a short amount of time.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience tutoring children aged 8 to 14 in English and Mathematics back in Korea. During my time in Australia, I regularly looked after children in a shared house. I naturally get along great with kids and love engaging them with fun activities.

I have hands-on experience picking berries (strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries) on Australian farms. And I regularly help my grandmother and parents with their backyard garden seeding, planting flowers, watering plants, harvesting crops, and trimming/preparing produce.

I worked as a kitchenhand and waitress in both restaurants and cafés in Australia. I can do hadle customer service in English, food preparation, washing dishes, and making light meals or platters.

Plus, I genuinely enjoy cleaning and organizing because I love seeing a space become spotless. I take pride in keeping my environment tidy and can help with any household chores.
