Hi there!

I’m Simone, originally from Germany and currently based in London. While I live in the city for work, I spend nearly all my free time outdoors – trail running, hiking, cycling, or exploring wild places in Scotland, Wales, and the Alps, often with our family’s Australian Shepherd by my side.

A big part of my life has always been dogs. I’ve worked as a dog handler and hiking guide in Northern Norway and Lapland, supporting a family-run husky farm with about 90 dogs. Later, I spent part of a winter in Alaska, close to Fairbanks, working with Alaskan Malamutes and helping to prepare a team for an expedition. These experiences gave me both practical skills and a deep love for sleddogs, and I would like to keep learning from different kennels and approaches.

I know the daily rhythm of kennel life - from feeding, cleaning, and training, to small repairs, chopping wood, or simply making sure every dog gets the care and attention they deserve. I love hard, physical work outdoors, but also the quiet, steady bond that grows with the dogs over time.

Alongside dogs, I’m passionate about nature and climate-related work - that’s my professional field at the moment. Long-term, my dream is to build a life up north with a small kennel of my own, but for now, I’m taking it step by step, learning and experiencing as much as I can.

I’m easygoing, curious, and happy to adapt to whatever the day brings. I love languages and enjoy learning about different cultures and ways of living, especially where people are closely connected to the land and the seasons.
