Hello!

We (Anna and Jack) are coming to travel in South America with my partner Anna. This is something that we have been planning and looking forward to for years!

We both love to travel; meet new people and experience different cultures. We love food - making it and eating it, hah! We are also very interested in where our food comes from and how it grows. We are always up for trying new things and believe that food is a brilliant way to experience a country - its' history, community and culture.

We are very creative people. Anna works as a visual artist and is specialised in printmaking. Jack studied sound arts and now works as a sound engineer. We love to experience art in all forms; exhibitions, events, performances, concerts. We also love to make things, whether it's practical or a piece of art. We both work on our feet and are not afraid to get our hands dirty!

We live in cities, however, we love spending time outdoors and be immersed in nature. Anna regularly practices yoga and pilates. After a recent trip to India she has become interested in meditation and breath-work, and hopes to expand on this. Jack is interested in climbing, surfing and skateboarding. We are both up for trying out new adventures and having some fun.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Jack:
For a few years now I have been working as a sound engineer and audiovisual technician. This requires an understanding of a vast amount of technologies such as PA systems, projectors, cameras, recording devices, mixing desks and so on. It is important to me that the artist feels looked after and comfortable. To me, keeping good relationships is of equal imporatnce. Working at live events can be extremely physically demanding with long hours, often under high pressure due to time constraints. I am able to keep a calm and relaxed demeanour in these situations so that I can focus on my work and do the best job possible.

I care about my work - I am deeply interested in Music and the story it tells. My interest in music is reflected in my interest in DJing and more experimental live digital music sets. I have experience doing so in many venues and clubs across London and the UK.

Previously I have done gardening work maintaining people’s gardens preparing for the next season to come and general pruning, digging and strimming. I have also worked helping create bespoke balcony planters. Here, it was important to be careful and organised and not to make a mess. I grew up in Sommerset in England surrounded by fields and farms. Both of my parents are very into garden and DIY. Growing up I was always getting involved in their projects and giving a helping hand. I love to see how things are made and am always up for learning new skills.

I also have experience working as a post-man in a built-up area of London. This required a good level of fitness and it involved a lot of running up and down multi-storey flats. It also meant I had to show good social skills as I would be meeting many people every day!

Anna:
I'm an experienced artist and printmaker. I have an attention for fine-detail and know how to problem solve. I can work at a fast-pace and under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality. I have worked as an arts facilitator, workshop host and as a workshop technician. My roles included guiding people through a process, teaching people new skills, demonstrating health and safety, maintaining equipment and assisting people in their work.

I have exhibited my own work and curated exhibitions. This involves the installation of work using power tools, filling holes and painting walls. I'm an active person who is comfortable working on my feet and in physically demanding roles.

I'm also an experienced barista and worked in hospitality for seven years. This includes various busy Cafés in Dublin and London. I have also worked in the hospitality sectors of music festivals such as Glastonbury. I am a social person - I love working with other people and being part of a team/community, though I also enjoy working autonomously and focusing on a task.
