Hello! I’m a former digital nomad and current backpacker who likes to go slow and authentically experience a country as much as possible. I’m interested in learning about the local culture and history and meeting like-minded people, fellow travelers and locals alike.
I’m originally from outside of Washington, DC in the United States and recently moved back to the city for the first time in my adult life. I lived in New York City for 4 years and went to university in Nashville, Tennessee. Between and during these residences, I fit in some longer term backpacking and digital nomad stints, and fell in love with solo travel and the people I met along the way.
Until recently, I worked in the international development field (also known as foreign aid, think USAID if that rings a bell!), mainly on global health projects, and still have a passion for working towards more equitable health and social outcomes around the world. While I’m enjoying this work-free period of exploration in Vietnam (and beyond?!), I would be more than excited to contribute to a local project or business however I can. Especially if it means connecting with really cool people and having unique experiences! ☺️
While open to trying almost any of the volunteer opportunities on this site, I am keen to teach English (my previous Workaway where I did this in Chile was amazing) or work at a hostel or coffee shop/community space. Since I am at a turning point in my career, I'd be very interested to learn more about social media, yoga/wellness, or any other new skillset that I could add to my wheelhouse. I might not be super experienced in it already, but with a little bit of direction I will work my hardest to learn and contribute however I can!Centres d’intérêt
