Hi there! My name is Rachel-Rose, I am 25 years old and am most passionate about helping people and animals! I started my journey travelling abroad to volunteer and learn about the world and it's many cultures in 2023. I have learned valuable information so far, and made so many memorable experiences. I have thoroughly enjoyed helping families, hobby farms, animal sanctuaries, and meeting new people while truly experiencing a local life no matter where I go. I am happiest when positively impacting others around me in any way I can. My goal is to leave a positive mark on the Earth, and everyone I meet while I have the privilege of exploring it!

I am a fitness professional who specializes in the field of Strength and Conditioning. I have been in the industry for 10 years. As fitness is a huge part of my life, I will always make time to exercise no matter if I'm on a rural farm or in a city- and I am keen to help anyone who may want to learn!

Despite my career in the fitness industry, my very first job at the age of 14 was actually on a farm. I have worked with horses, ponies, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, cats, dogs, chickens, roosters, peacocks, you name it. I worked on this farm throughout high school until I started to lean towards fitness. I discovered my passion for animals, farms, and overall co-existing with the natural world, as we as humans are an extension of nature, and protectors of animals.

I would absolutely be interested in teaching the language of English as I know it is a confusing language. While I am also very much interested in getting better at speaking, reading, and writing in Arabic as it is my native language on my Fathers side. This is a goal of mine.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a very large range of skills from working with animals, children, to farm care, garden care, food service, health, hospitality, to writing, and computer skills--

I have leadership and managerial qualities. I am a very organized and clean person, I always need my space to be clean and tidy in order to feel comfortable and safe, and am happy to contribute to keeping other shared spaces clean and tidy wherever I may be staying.

I have extensive skills in laborious work as my job requires me to be able to constantly lift weights and objects.

I can lift over 250lbs. (113kg). This is also a big part of my life so regardless of where I am travelling I will be exercising at least 2-3x a week on top of the workaway hours! I would be happy to teach anyone interested.

Specifically I have experience in:

Farm Care: I worked on a farm for 3 years learning how to care for farm animals and the land in different climates. As well as the past 2 years during work aways I completed in Hawaii, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Japan, all involving animals, farm care, and garden care.
-Saddling ponies and horses (western saddle)
-Grooming and cleaning horses (including hoof cleaning)
-Cleaning and stocking stables and stalls
-Feeding and caring for various farm animals
-Maintenance of a barn
-Cat and dog care: nail clipping, grooming, bathing, feeding, etc.
-Goat care: safe handling and play, feeding, hoof cleaning, de-worming methods, etc

Team management/leader:
-Manager/Assistant manager: I have been a manager and assistant manager of gym facilities as I am capable and proficient at leading and managing others as well as an establishment

Water Activities:
-I know some basics when It comes to tending to boats and jet skis
-Tying up boats, driving boats (certain ones), jet ski driving

Child Care:
-I have babysat multiple children at once ranging from ages 6 months to 9 years old
-After school homework, tutoring/studying
-Household chores like food prep, laundry, cleaning
-Educational entertainment, pick up and drop off, changing diapers

Food Service:
-I've worked as a line cook and server
-I enjoy cooking my own meals and baking, learning new recipes and cooking for others!
-I meal prep weekly and love to try new things

Computer skills, POS, platforms:
-I worked as a bookkeeper dealing with invoices and data entry
-I am proficient in Google and Microsoft Platforms (even though I despise Excel)
-I have worked in retail and have experience with different POS and operating platforms

I also have great hospitality skills ranging from entertaining people, hosting parties, deep cleaning, painting, organizing, taking care of children, cooking, and baking.

I am able to do the dirty work or hard laborious work, and It is actually what I enjoy doing, and would prefer doing as It makes down time and exploring that much more rewarding!

I am a fan of scategories or card games! I enjoy being outside in nature. When I am not working I am immersing myself in nature, with friends, animals, reading, journaling, and exploring. I enjoy using my free time to explore my own desires and interests in relation to these common themes I listed, and learn more about myself in connection to this universe. Any activity outside is my kind of activity, including time with animals and my loved ones. I also really enjoy star gazing and learning about the moon.
