Description
Hey! I'm Tim — a 27-year-old from New Zealand, currently travelling after stepping away from a 5-year career in finance in Sydney.
Since leaving my job, I’ve spent most of the last year volunteering, travelling, and reconnecting with a simpler, more meaningful way of life. I’ve been through Europe, Turkey, and Southeast Asia, and have spent about 6 months volunteering in Thailand and Indonesia.
In Thailand, I lived and worked at an eco-village called the Mindfulness Project — a community centred around natural building, sustainability, and mindful living. I got stuck into everything from digging foundations, making and laying mud bricks, putting up bamboo frames, rendering, to installing thatched roofs. In Indonesia, I took on more general handyman work — fixing things up, helping out around a guesthouse, and learning by doing.
I grew up close to nature in New Zealand with a dad who’s an outdoor ed teacher and adventure racer, so that love for the outdoors and getting my hands dirty has always been there. I’m also really into the ocean — I love swimming, learning to surf, and spending time around water.
These days, I’m looking to contribute my time and energy to meaningful projects — especially those rooted in nature, community, and conscious living. I’m happy to help with building, maintenance, gardening, or anything practical. I’m reliable, relaxed, and genuinely enjoy working with others and learning from new cultures. I’m also slowly picking up Spanish!

My professional background in finance for the previous five years has helped me develop strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, which I believe would make me a valuable asset. I'm comfortable working to timelines and being under pressure.
I am also physically fit and am comfortable with manual labour and outdoor tasks.
