Helloooo! I’m Nora :)

I am currently looking to volunteer at some Workaways this spring. I have just finished my studies in the Netherlands, where I focused on culture and literature. And in the autumn I will begin at an ecological folkehøyskole (folk school). So while thinking about what to do during this in-between period, I realized I would love to spend as much time as possible outside, and my mind quickly went to Workaway.

Volunteering through Workaway is something I did a few years ago before starting my studies. Most of the places I stayed were farms, where I gardened, helped with harvesting, took care of animals (such as donkeys, sheep, and chickens), and did general household chores and maintenance. I really enjoyed this kind of practical work, being able to learn new things, have new experiences, meet lovely people, and stay in beautiful places while volunteering. It is something I have really missed, and I’m now looking to immerse myself in it again.

My hopes for the places where I volunteer are to meet kind people and learn as much as possible, particularly about farming and gardening. In the (realistically not so near) future, I dream of having a small place of my own in the forest where I can try to live sustainably and grow my own food. The knowledge and skills I gain through volunteering is something I hope to take with me and build on throughout my life.

A bit about myself:
I am 25 years old and half Norwegian and half Swedish. I grew up in a multicultural household where we spoke English, Norwegian, and Swedish. I was born in Spain and lived there until I was eight, then we moved to the US. Later we moved to Norway, where I live now. Traveling has always been a big part of my family life, and I think it has given me the ability to adapt well and make the most of different situations.

I’m a calm and easygoing person, a reliable worker, and am not afraid to ask questions. I might be a little shy at first, but once I get to know people, I open up and enjoy sharing laughs and good conversations. I love having a cozy atmosphere around me. And in my free time I enjoy reading books, making things with my hands, going for walks, watching movies, and indulging my sweet tooth;)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In high school, I specialized in art, design and architecture. I learnt a lot of cool art activates, that I'm happy to share and do with anyone. I would also love to learn more about art in its many different forms.

With that said, I'm very practical and learn fast. I'm a steady hard worker, and I get the job done. I have work experience with cleaning at a hospital, gardening at the cemetery and other small odd jobs. In addition to volunteering at workaways, where i have mostly helped with gardening and farm work.

Also i can help If there is a dire need for someone's hair to be cut. Not to brag but i have been my sisters' personal hairdresser for years now :)
