Hi, I'm Mas! I'm a 27-year-old from the UK, currently on a working holiday around Australia. By background I have an MA and BA in English Literature, and I've spent the past few years working as a private tutor, teaching English at GCSE, A-Level, IB, and university level. Overall, I'm patient, a good listener, and used to adapting to different people and situations.

What I'm really looking for through Workaway is a chance to live alongside different families and communities around the country, and to see Australia through the everyday lives of the people who actually call it home, rather than just passing through as a tourist. I'm drawn to the idea of staying with families in different regions, learning how they live, what matters to them, and what makes their corner of the country distinct. Further down the line, I'd love to try some farm stays too, since I think there's no better way to understand a place than through real, hands on work.

I'm easygoing, reliable, and happy to help with whatever's needed. Whether that's practical day to day tasks, lending a hand around the house or land, or sharing something useful of my own, like tutoring or general English support if that's ever helpful to a host or their family. Mostly, I'm looking for genuine connection and to properly experience as much of Australia as I can through the eyes of the people I stay with, rather than ticking off sights on my own.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm patient, a good listener, and genuinely enjoy getting to know people. From several years spent tutoring, I've picked up a real knack for explaining things clearly, adapting to different personalities, and putting people at ease, skills that carry over well into living with a new family or community and just fitting in naturally.

I'm also a capable, willing pair of hands for whatever's needed day to day. I pick things up quickly, take instruction well, and I'm happy to get stuck into household tasks, outdoor or manual work, cooking, gardening, or helping around a farm. If it's ever useful, I'm also glad to help kids with reading or schoolwork, or just have a good chat and share stories from home.

Mostly, I bring a genuine willingness to help, curiosity about how other people live, and an easygoing attitude, and I see Workaway as a real exchange rather than just a place to stay.

Outside of work, I'm a big reader and lover of literature and film, and I have a real interest in art too. I enjoy cooking, teaching, and learning new things generally, and I love exploring new places and cultures, which is a big part of why I'm doing this trip. I'm also a keen board games player, always up for a game in the evening.

Sport has been a huge part of my life. I'm a massive football (soccer) fan and have played throughout my life, but I've also played tennis, cricket, badminton, and more over the years.
