Hey hey,
I am Malina, currently 18 years old and I just graduated high school last year. I am currently doing my gap year to travel across the world before I start with University.

I love seeing new places, being active and exploring all types of things to broaden my horizons, which is why I decided to travel with workaway.
I want to embark on this journey in order to see new places, experience different cultures and to meet new people.
So far I have already worked as a babysitter in Italy (Rome) and I enjoyed every second of this experience. I can’t wait for what’s next.
Furthermore, I can say about myself that I like nature a lot but at the same time also the big city live (streets full of life, rich in culture and a lot of potential people to meet). I also adore all types of animals, I love being creative, reading books, writing poetry and meeting new people.

I would love to learn Spanish and Italian or the languages of the places I am visiting over the next year because I would love to upgrade my language skills in order to make communications with other people flow easier. Language is a huge part of another countries culture so I believe it’s a must to learn at least a little of it. I myself speak German as my native language and English on a C1 level. I would be happy to teach others those languages.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Hospitality - For the past year, I have been working in hospitality, specifically waitressing at a nearby café. At this place I not only learned to take orders and serve food but I also how to deal with all types of people.

Child care - I babysitted for various children in my neighbourhood over the last years, which were between the age of 5 and 13. I tutored children at my school in the subjects Latin, Math and English for two years. I loved teaching the children new skills and seeing them improve brought me joy. Moreover, I took care of two little children in Italy for three months, this experience has thought me a lot.

Language skills - I am fluent in German and pretty much in English as well. I got a Cambridge Certificate in English, which declares that I speak English on a C1 level. Lastly, I can speak a bit basic Italian, which is well enough for communicating a bit.

Housekeeping- I have basic housekeeping skills since I am helping my family around the house. I clean, wash clothes and sometimes cook basic meals.

In general I can say that I am a fast learner and always open to learning new skills, so I would love to do all kind of tasks!
