Description

Hi! My name is Marek and I’m a hardworking and easygoing person from Slovakia who loves Asian cooking, culture and hospitality.

I have experience living and working in Thailand, where I helped in a family business, smoothie shop, street food preparation, and with cleaning, organization, and reopening of a hotel during a Workaway stay. I also worked as a student trainee in a professional Thai kitchen in Bangkok.

My passion is Asian cuisine (Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Malay). I enjoy wok cooking, traditional recipes, and learning authentic local techniques. Right now, I’m focused on learning more about Vietnamese cuisine and culture while traveling in Vietnam and I slowly turning my attention to Malay and Chinese cuisine with arrival to Malaysia at the end 7/2026.

I also have experience as a waiter in a hotel restaurant, so I’m comfortable working with guests and international teams. I’m reliable, adaptable, and always willing to help and learn something new.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Cooking: I have skills in home-style and professional cooking, especially Asian cuisine (Thai, Chinese). I’m passionate about wok cooking. I love learning traditional recipes and cooking for others.

Working with People: I am all my life working with people, starting with teaching during my studies, later in the bank and finely in gastronomy as a waiter. I’m naturally friendly and open, and I enjoy working with people of all ages. I have worked even with the people in multilanguage environment. I can even manage and organize others people's work if needed

Language Skills: I speak good English and native Slovak/Czech, and I’m used to communicating with people from different cultures. I enjoy improving my skills while traveling.

Teamwork & Independence: I’m reliable, easy to work with, and comfortable both as part of a team and working on my own, as I experienced during my studies and in a restaurant. I follow instructions well, and I’m not afraid to take initiative when needed.

Sport & Outdoor Activities: I love being active—hiking, climbing, jogging, playing sports or just exploring nature. I’m happy to join in or help with outdoor projects.
