You’ll get to experience authentic Malaysian village life in the serene hills of Janda Baik. This is a place where nature and culture come together. You’ll meet local villagers, learn about their traditions, and enjoy home-style Malaysian food.
You’ll also have the chance to explore the surrounding area, visit nearby farms, and see how we’re blending traditional ways of living with our retreat’s eco-friendly practices. If you’re interested, we’d be happy to share with you about local customs, Malay language basics, and even invite you to community gatherings or festivals if they happen during your stay.
In return, we’re excited to learn about your culture, skills, and experiences too—whether it’s a new recipe, language, or ideas to make our retreat even more welcoming. -
Aide
We are nestled in the peaceful village of Janda Baik, surrounded by forested hills, a flowing stream, and free-roaming animals. As a nature retreat, we’re looking for Workawayers who love the outdoors, enjoy meeting people, and don’t mind lending a hand where it’s needed most.
You may help with a variety of tasks including light gardening, general maintenance, housekeeping, or supporting guests. Sometimes we also need creative help like photography, social media content, or building small sustainable features around the retreat (like animal shelters or seating areas).
We usually work together as a small team, so there’s plenty of opportunity to share ideas and learn from each other. You’ll get to experience the slower, village lifestyle, and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings during your free time.
This is a great fit if you enjoy hands-on work, being close to nature, and want to be part of growing a young retreat into something special. -

We are fluent in English and Malay (Bahasa Malaysia). Most of our team and locals in the village speak Malay, but English is widely used, especially with guests. You’ll have no trouble communicating in English here, and if you’re interested, we’d be happy to teach you some basic Malay phrases during your stay! -
Hébergement
You’ll stay in a simple chalet or room. It’s basic but comfy, perfect for nature lovers and budget travelers. Shared bathrooms, limited Wi-Fi, and plenty of fresh air. Meals can be shared, or you can cook light meals yourself.
