  • Description

Hey there! My name's Kayleigh, 31yo, currently based in Berlin (Germany), though I grew up on the south coast of England.

If I have one main goal in life, it's to see and experience the world - to immerse myself within the various, diverse cultures, traditions + ways of life within existence.

In my early 20's I travelled to Australia, took a short trip around Europe touching most major cities and then flew to New Zealand in hope to continue working and travelling my way around the world - until I'd seen it all. In New Zealand life took a different turn when I met my partner and father of my son, Joscha + instead of journeying the world, I travelled to Berlin (my partner's home city) to embark on the journey of motherhood.

Now my son is of school age, we (my son and I) are looking to relocate to Ireland in August of this year (2026) to begin our home/worldschooling journey. Since birth, Joscha's father and I have been very conscious/intentional with the environments that Joscha’s been exposed to, ensuring they’ve been nurturing and nourishing to best support his wholistic growth/development. For this reason, the mainstream school system just wasn’t for us.

We’ve raised Joscha in a way that promotes a deep connection to the natural world, accompanied with a sense of responsibility to take care of the world around us. The use of technology in our household is minimal.. we play card and board games as a family, as well as spending as much time as we can outdoors exploring the world around us. For “holidays” we’ve spent the past years campervan-ing Sweden, Norway, Scotland as well as hiking in the mountains of Austria.

Organic, regenerative agriculture has become a main staple within our family - we've multiple subscriptions to community run farms where we've thoroughly enjoyed taking time out to tend to the fields, harvesting celeriac, carrots, turnips, kohlrabi, just to name a few.

Coincidently Joscha is incredibly interested in farm life. When randomly asked by a checkout lady where he’d like to go to school - he replied a “farm school”.. so as you can imagine he's always enthusiastic to spend days out on the fields and he's especially excited to go to help plant new seeds this coming spring season.

Why Ireland? I'm half Irish - on my mothers side, although I grew up on the south coast of England (dad's English) and have family in Co. Tipperary. Ireland's always had a warm place in my heart. I'd love to delve deeper into the culture and history of Ireland and to become better acquainted with my Celtic roots. I also love everything Ireland is renowned for; especially the openness and warmth of the people.

Growing up on the south coast of England, the sea played a significant role in my life - the coast was my place to soothe/regulate. The sound of the waves and the sea breeze have something to them. It’s somewhere I would drive to, just to sit, breathe and write/journal, contemplate life.

I’ve often found myself asking the deeper questions, contemplating existence and my/humanity’s role within it. Writing + researching is a real passion of mine, I suppose you could say I’m a writer/philosopher at heart. I especially love topics regarding the realms of natural/life sciences + spirituality/eastern philosophy.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My 'work' has predominantly revolved around people; working with people, getting to know people from various walks of life via engaging with customers etc. Since I was 15, I've worked within the hospitality industry, starting as a glass collector, waitress, (passionate) barista, then onwards to management - my most recent years having been spent in cafe management.

So you could say I'm very well rehearsed within all things people related. I strive to be the best human I can be, the best mother I can be and I reflect on this daily.

I am a go-getter in life, I believe in the gift of free will and our ability to empower ourselves with choice in each given moment. I see life through a lens of duality and our ability to choose which side of the spectrum we fall upon - somedays we'll make better choices than others and that's part of the journey - but ultimately each of us can actualise a greater potential by exercising self awareness, presence and striving for small improvements regarding the choices we're making, in each given moment.

So I guess emotional intelligence, communication, collaboration/teamwork as personal skillsets come to mind.

I'm also deeply committed to growth and learning new things - I feel many of us have forgotten that life's for living.. that we're built to always be learning, growing, evolving. Just as in nature. I'm a firm believer in that even our greatest challenges can be seen as gifts that offer great lessons/insight/wisdom.

Motherhood has not only ignited but required a whole new world of skills, in the realms of; emotional + interpersonal skills, organisational + management skills, practical + technical skills and resilience and adaptation - not to mention doing this alongside navigating life in a foreign country, a new language as well as the covid era and the various challenges that accompany these experiences. It was an intense time haha.

The skills we'd love to focus on building.. surround organic, regenerative farming/market gardening. We'd also love to learn Gaeilge. But honestly, we're pretty open to anything!

We love animals so anything involving animals is always welcome!
