Hi, I’m Pachi. Over 10 years ago I went on my first trip with a friend and discovered what traveling was really about. On that short trip (just 5 days) through the north of Argentina, I loved meeting people from other countries, experiencing a different culture within my own, seeing new customs, and visiting incredibly beautiful places. Since then I knew for sure that I wanted to keep doing that. I went back to my routine but after a few months I left university and my job to return to the hostel where it had all started, and that was the beginning of a new stage in my life.

After traveling around Argentina I decided to go abroad, and since then I’ve mostly been moving around Europe. I’ve done Workaways in Malta, Greece, France and the Canary Islands. Right now I’m living in Las Palmas while slowly getting to know all the islands of the lovely Canaries.

I’m open to all kinds of projects as long as I find some value in them, both for me and for those offering them. I love meeting people and sharing cultures, so I usually prefer volunteering places where there are other Workawayers too (but it’s not a must).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve been working in IT since around 2012, mainly in programming. I actually started by chance without even knowing what it really was, but I ended up loving it and it has been my main job all these years.

On the other hand, I’m really passionate about music. I love instruments! I mainly play guitar (and sing), but I’m always learning something new. Right now, I’m learning harmonica and the cajón flamenco. For several years I was part of a Brazilian percussion group, playing samba-reggae. I also enjoy playing bass and drums, and honestly I’m always open to learning any new instrument!

Since I grew up in a small city surrounded by rural areas, I’ve developed some hands-on skills and creativity to make things work with whatever is available. I enjoy working outdoors, cutting trees, using tools like chainsaws, welding, or working with metal and wood cutting machines. I wouldn’t call myself a PRO, but I like it a lot, haha. At home I was always taught to handle all kinds of machines carefully and safely.

I also enjoy cooking (again, not a PRO), and I love learning tips and recipes from other cultures.

Autres infos...

Right now I’m traveling around the Canary Islands in my small van. I can sleep in it, and I’ve even removed the extra seats (it only has one besides the driver’s) to make more space inside.

I’m especially interested in projects located away from the city, closer to nature.

For now, I’m looking mainly for short-term volunteering opportunities, since soon I’ll be searching for a barista job and won’t have much time for long stays.
