Description
Hi! I'm Isaac, and I'm stoked to be part of such an awesome global community, and to use my skills along the way to help you out.

I'm from California, but currently in Europe, and experiencing some of the wonderful things that life has to offer. I'm open-minded, curious, adaptable, positive, and excited to meet new people around the world and make new friends.

I'm only 19, but I have a wealth of experience in, and passion for, gardening, tree work (felling and logging), construction, cooking and childcare. I'm strong, fit, energetic, a super-fast learner, and I need only minimal instruction to hit the ground running. I'm always willing to work hard, I'm really comfortable working both alone or with a team, and I love getting my hands dirty and contributing however and wherever I'm most needed.

I'm also very creative and artistically driven, with a passion to work on just about anything :)

Outside of work hours, I'm just as content to curl up quietly with a good book as I am to socialize, explore the local area, take a hike, swim or do anything active. I get on well with everyone and I love to be introduced to new games, films, music and whatever you love to do in your down-time!

Ultimately, I'm here to exchange my time and energy for meaningful experiences, not just as a tourist, but as someone who really becomes part of each place and makes a proper contribution. I'm always respectful, reliable, and ready with my naturally positive attitude to help you out.

I’m a motivated and hands-on person with a range of skills in outdoor work, hospitality, art, and working with kids. I have a wide range of experience that may be useful for hosts - from pruning trees, gardening, painting and cooking, to ceramics, computer-skills, and even cutting hair.
English is my first language and I'm open to teaching others and helping you practice.
l'm good at figuring out solutions to problems, taking on feedback, and doing things the best that I can.

Jona is amazing, she is a super hard worker and super inspiring to live with. the work was fair and well communicated, after working, we always had delicious lunch and dinner. I loved every day at Jona's, you will leave with a full belly and big smile !

Isaac is an absolute joy to host, and if he comes your way, I would 100% recommend that you snap him up!
(Although it hurts to say this because I want to keep him here - hehe.)

The minute he arrived, he was keen to figure out the lay of the land (and the kitchen) by himself, and to be useful straight away... a positive, hard-working attitude… read more that sums up his entire stay and his naturally helpful character (5 productive and fun weeks together).

Just to give you an idea of Isaac's work ethic, in only the first few days, he pick-axed/cleared a stream, set in two stone bridges, carefully pruned an ancient olive tree, and took charge of creating a safe bonfire pit. He then tackled a really huge, long and overgrown tangle of brambles ~ a daunting task that no-one else wanted to touch for years... and he did this entirely on his own, covered in scratches, in hot sun for days, but always with a smile on his face.

Elsewhere, he weeded, mowed, strimmed, cut and processed a sizeable tree and generally whipped the land into shape... seeing what was needed, proposing solutions and just getting on with it. There wasn't a thing I threw at him - even the muckiest, hardest jobs, that he didn't take on with enthusiasm and conscientiousness.

He is skilled with all garden tools, thorough, strong, fast, full of energy, and super-keen to ensure that I was happy with his work (I was, every time!). He is experienced and capable way beyond his years - taking each task with minimal instruction and zero fuss, and just cracking on with it. As a host, to fully trust in the abilities of a workawayer, without having to check up on them, is a true blessing!

Outside of work, Isaac fit right in with a very diverse houseful of workawayers, neighbours and friends, and everyone loved him. He is a mellow, warm, easygoing, open-hearted and fun person to have around - like a big ray of sunshine. He's eternally interested and wanting to learn all about the people around him and savour everything that local life has to offer, but also very low maintenance... give him a simple meal and a good book, or show him a hiking route, and he's happy. Anything beyond that ~ from our trip to a waterfall, to our Friday pizza nights, he was super-appreciative - always the first to thank me.

In conclusion, Isaac has firmly become a beloved member of my workaway family and I would have him back in a flash anytime he finds himself in Italy again.

I love you, dude! Please return for more bramble apocalypse and hugs soon... your Italian mama is waiting impatiently :-)
