In general, I'm motivated by the goal to make the world a bit better everywhere I go. Whether that means little things, like offering the stranger who forgot their wallet a few coins to pay the bus fare or recycling the plastic bottles somebody tossed in a flower bush, or striving to make a bigger impact in my community through mutual aid and involvement, there's lots of ways to try to leave impacts.

As for what brings me happiness...vibrants sunsets and songs that make me think of special people in my life, great books and thunderstorms, laughter with friends and strangers alike, speaking different languages (even if its poorly and I or the other person is just trying), the infinitely diverse yet totally familiar nature of the human experience.

I am interested in teaching English and can provide conversational support for Spanish (I speak fluently but still mistakes and find myself learning new words every day). I am interested in learning French, Italian and Portuguese, all of which I can read and take away some degree of meaning but my actual skills are very beginner.

I'm a writer and an English teacher by trade. I speak English natively and Spanish fluently.

I have a degree from a U.S. American university in environmental studies, anthropology and journalism. I worked for 3 years as an editor and reporter for a newspaper in North Carolina, USA.

I have 6+ years experience working in a variety of food service and hospitality positions.
