Hi! I'm Ellie, I'm 29 and on a career break, looking to explore different parts of Canada, learn new skills and meet new people. I’m especially interested in learning through hands-on experiences and connecting with local people. I would love to use work away for meaningful exchange, contributing my time and energy while learning how others live and work.

My usual day to day work involves construction project management, but I also have previous experience working for charities/non-profits and also in various hospitality and retail settings, working in restaurants, bars, shops and cafes.

I’m a hardworking, positive, and open-minded person who enjoys being outdoors, staying active and learning new things. Having grown up with dogs and horses, I love spending spending time with animals and in nature, and am also keen to learn more skills in all areas. I also think work away gives a great opportunity to learn about new places and cultures.

I’m reliable, easygoing, and enjoy being part of a team, but I’m also comfortable working independently and taking initiative when required.

English is my first language but I am also an intermediate German speaker.

I have flexible travel plans and am available from June 2026 to February 2027. I’m open to both short- and medium-term stays. I have no dietary requirements.

I’m looking forward to a Workaway experience where I can contribute meaningfully to a project or household :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a variety of skills in different areas.
My role as a project manager has provided me with cofident verbal and written communication skills, I am able to explain ideas in an accessible, practical way. Through this, i have a lot of experience working with the public and stakeholders , and digital skills in writing reports, updating websites etc.
Working as a server and barista in a busy cafe environment provided me with strong customer service and people skills, as well as cleaning, organising and multi-tasking and working under pressure as part of a team.
Having grown up with horses and dogs, I am calm and confident in horse handling, grooming, feeding, mucking out, Daily stable routines and general yard maintenance. I am also calm and confident around dogs, and the care required.
