Lasse: 24-year-old just finished with my bachelor’s in Project Management and now wanting to explore how life is lived in other cultures. I want to do this by helping out and actually experience the same everyday situations as the locals in the area I’m headed to.
Danique: 22-year-old looking to help others out and experience varieties of life. I want to connect with the world as well as other people.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Lasse: From my studies in Business Administration and Project Management, I have knowledge about leading teams and projects as well as skills within accounting and economic statements. On the side I work as a team leader in an event company hosting teambuilding and leadership development events and I’m therefore used to presenting in front of a lot of people. I also do several types of sports and in general enjoy the outdoors and because of that I’m not afraid of some dirt if that’s part of the job. I’m a team player and love to see the whole group succeed, and I therefore work hard to achieve the set goals.
Danique: I have an university bachelor degree in the Interdisciplinary Humanities. I have affinity with media and its relation to society. In particular video and television with interests in gender and sexuality. I, particularly, have graphic design skills (photographic and audiovisual) and have experience doing logistics and event planning. I speak Dutch and English fluently and am a beginner in German and French, but am open to learn more languages. I love learning new things and I’m a quick learner as well as a hard worker who is mot afraid of some dirty work.

Travel and volunteer experience and purpose of Workaway stay:
Lasse: I've been traveling 3 months in South-East Asia and 3 months in South- and Central America. On top of that, I've had 3 weeks in Tanzania and Kenya as well as 4 months on exchange in Vancouver, Canada. In Ecuador I helped out at an orphanage for a few days which was an eye-opening experience as you got a whole other view on how life is lived in other parts of the world. On top of that, I helped out painting and modernizing a school, and I really enjoyed making an actual difference throughout my travels. I'm striving to be as adventurous as possible and I'm open to both go back to the places I've already been to enhance my knowledge of that specific culture, but I would also love to expand my horizon! With a Workaway stay I hope to gain insight in to the life of locals and to help with a project that makes a difference for people and/or animals in the local community.
Danique: I've been to numerous countries in Europe and went on a 4 month exchange in Vancouver, Canada followed by traveling through the country for a month after. I've volunteered before in an elderly home for 2 years and have a lot of volunteer experience in the creative sector by planning and hosting cultural art events. I would love to learn about more cultures and on a deeper level, and make a change during my travels for animals and/or other humans. Workaway would be the perfect opportunity to make this happen and connect with others in various ways while working towards a shared goal.
